Way to tell if a 19" tv has a 19" tube in it?

Hey Malice,
Would you mind documenting which tubes came from each brand of TV? Maybe we can compile a good list.

Unfortunatly I already tossed out all the plastic. But I dont see any
in my list that would be drop in replacements for anything I have.

I'll note the TV model numbers & Brand next batch.

They may not be drop in replacements for a G07, but you should be able to swap the yoke on any of those with your G07 yoke and you'll be good to go. As long as the TV's yoke isn't bonded and didn't have a ton of convergence strips on it, you shouldn't need to worry about converging the swapped yoke much.

Speaking of convergence strips, make sure you save as many as you can if you ever do a tube swap with a yoke swap! They're hard to find nowadays.

Yeah, those are few and far between. As I mentioned, I've only ever found one. I think someone else on here (maybe Mod) found one once, too.

Edward

Zenith TVs with woodgrain sides from the later 80's.....model number S1989W3 . TV has a little door on the front to adjust settings and also an LED display.

Yep, all 100 degree tubes. Need to open another one as the first tube I pulled had no sticker on it. Not sure what the tube number is. It has the wrong connector (CR-23 style) so I imagine the Red and Green are reversed but that is an easy enough fix. I am in the process of testing a tube swap and documenting it. I shall report back. (probably in a separate thread)

Is Alva Amusements the best place to buy universal chassis's from?
Someone else cheaper? There is only one chassis brand out there now
right?

He quoted me.

These need an ISO transformer..

Chassis CH-1220H 10 pins, LOW Z, 9~15 ohm ,,19' (NEGATIVE SYNC) = $ 57.95
Chassis CH-1220S 8 pins, LOW Z, 9~15 ohm, 19' (NEGATIVE SYNC) = $ 57.95

These Dont..

CHASSIS 2620H, 19"(VERT, 9~15 ohm)(NEGATIVE SYNC) BIG NECK (10 PINS), 110~220v, DON'T NEED ISO TRANSF. = $ 62.95
CHASSIS CH-2620S 19", 110~220v, DON'T , BUILT IN TRANSF LOW Z, 9~15 ohm SMALL NECK (8 PINS)(NEGATIVE SYNC). = $ 62.95

Supposedly they get them in all the time so I'll swing by weekly and clean them out:)

If you get more than you need, I'm always looking for scratch free TV tubes. I'd gladly pay you for your trouble for a handful of them.

I'd be happy to grab you a bunch once I am done grabbing what I need. How many are you looking for?

Probably only 4 or 5 of the thick neck style. My source dried up, but I have found a few TVs on the side of the road but they're usually scratched or 20".
