I have a WG K7000 that has a wave on the top 25% or so. The h-hold does not seem to affect it. If I move the picture using the V-pos pot, the waviness moves with the image, rather than being a specific part of the tube.

It does the same thing with all three of my boards, all of which work fine in another cab I have (also with a K7000).

Is this just a cap issue? Or does it sound like something else is screwy?

I'll assume your monitor is running off an ISO. Try adding another ground from the monitor chassis to the PS ground.

I do have an ISO installed correctly, I checked that first. I put a ground connection between earth ground on the PS and the monitor chassis with no change.

make sure theres actually a video ground hooked up properly at the video input connectors..

other then that, "do some caps"

When you say "wave", do you mean an actual moving wave, or just a curviness of the steady picture in that area? They have different solutions, and a cap kit probably won't fix a moving wave...

A straight line starting at the top looks like a damped sinusoid that stabilizes about 20% down the screen.

To clarify, it is not a moving wave. My thought was that it looked like h-hold out of adjustment, as I can make the whole screen look like that with the h-hold, but once the majority of the picture is stable, the h-hold no longer has any affect on it.
