Water Damaged Dragon's Lair II Save it from being set on Fire?

Opinions please and let me know if I'm crazy. a buddy of mine has a barn full of games and one of them is an original dedicated Dragon's Lair II in excellent condition and pretty much complete except the bottom is completely water damaged. Am I crazy to try and save this cab? I'm thinking I can cut off like 6" off the bottom and re-create a base.

He's gonna set this one on fire if I don't go get it so I have two options gut it for parts or try and save it? I don't really have much love for the game but I do like it. the cab is also a very nice cab.

I just chopped about 3 1/2" opff the bottom of my joust
and replaced it with new wood. It can be done if you have the
woodworking tools and the skills.

I'd try to save it. Worst case grab it for the parts.

One year, the local show they have here, a guy brought a Dragons Lair and he did just that...cut off about 6" on the bottom. Except he left it that way ;) So it was a little shorter than a regular one, but still not too bad. I say go ahead and try, especially if the rest is still in good shape. What's to lose except some time and a little material?

Ya I was gonna get it for all the parts no matter what but wanted to know what you guys thought about saving it completely. And if I was crazy to think cutting off the bottom 6" was a good idea.

Looks like I wasn't crazy lol I'll save it!

I've seen this cab, I'll help fetch it from the barn!
I know MKplayer1start , and I know he will do this cab justice.
Fully confident buddy it will look ACES when done !
See ya tomorrow.

PS - If Scott's wife signs the permission slip he might come help !
