Water 1; Basement Arcade - 0

What is this "Basement" you speak of? :) I hope the damage is minimal. If it's extensive, I've already cleared your okay to part-out pass with Van...

Oh no! Dude, I was working in your area yesterday and it was some of the hardest rain I ever experienced. I actually had to pull off on the side of the road and wait for it to pass. Wound up at Caseys for an extended lunch break. Safety first, right? ;)

Hope the damage isn't too bad, I remember you had laminate floors in your gameroom. If you need help, drop me a PM.

I'm sorry. I've been through the basement thing fortunately before I put the games down there. Hopefully I got everything fixed. Wish I could help. Hope everything turns out okay.

Ouch, that really sucks. Hopefully the damage to the games isn't too bad, though. I'd like to see some pics if you've got 'em.

Thanks everyone

Well, I am tired.

4 hours of shop vac and throwing stuff away. The damage to machines seems minimal actualy, and for that I am VERY thankful! As you may know, I store some games for EagleTG and this had me physically sick today.

The pins are fine. Pac man seems okay, Space Duel and Super Monaco GP are dry, as seems to be the candy cabinet. The 2 Syatem 1 cabinets seemed to get it the worst, but they were int he worst condition to begin with. so that is actually not so bad. Those got wet inside but nothing else seemed to. The basement is a disaster now and I have dehumidifiers and fans running to dry things out.

What is still REALLY wet is the carpet under the pool table. Tried to shop vac that the best I could and have a fan on it now. I can't move the pool table, so I will hope for the best there.

Thanks for the support, it is very much appreciated. I learned that corregated cardboard can absorb about 1.7 million time it's weight in water.

Things I know I lost:
Signed posters from John Popaduik (4)
Lots of Hyperball parts
LOTS of pinball flyers
Black Knight manual
2 neon signs (transformers got wet).
about 20 pinball coils
Misc Beer advertising items

Trying to dry out some of that stuff to see if it is salvagable, we'll see.

Here are some post-work pics, though it's hard to see the water or get an idea of how much there was. I know others have had it much worse, and I know I got off relatively lucky.

UUGGHHH that sucks. My sump pump failed spring 2010 when we had all the rain/snow melt and I got 2 ft of water in the basement.
Thankfully I didnt have any games down there (before I collected) but I did lose about $5,000 worth of computer and technology
books.. broke my heart. It was a nightmare to clean up.

Whats under the floor/behind the walls? You gotta watch out for mold now. UUUGHH what a nightmare. Let me know if
you need any help cleaning up.

That reminds me.. I gotta install that second backup sump pump.

Under the floor is DeltaFL underlayment on top of concrete. I will be running fans for a few weeks. This has happened before (before I had so much down there) and it came out okay, so I am not SO converened about that.

The rug under the pool table worries me the most now.

The walls we actually built about 3-4" from the concrete walls for ventilation behind them. This has proven to be a good thing. The footers are pressure treated as well so that helps.

It's just such a hassle when this happens. Even moreso when there's alot of stuff down there.
