Was thinking about purchasing an Ice Cold Beer. What do they normally go for?

Was interested in purchasing an Ice Cold arcade from someone locally here in Orlando.
Wanted to find out what the going price was for the game and what I should ask for it.
Wanted to see too if the game was anyones here on the board.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks.

They have gone up in price a lot the last few years. $800 does not seem out of the question at all these days.

I'd pay $800- $1,000 for a nice one. Cabinet doesn't have to be perfect, but I would want the glass to be flake free.

What is the appeal of ICB? I've seen them..and played it..but to me anyway..its just a meh game.

I've never played it.
I've owned the labrynth type games that are made of wood that you manuver the ball thru and loved playing that.
Didn't realize the game was so hard to find.

When I get a hold of the guy what should I be looking for?
Are there replacement parts available if I do have any parts that need to be replaced?

Yeah parts are out there. KLOV'r Riptor has a site (twistywristarcade.com) that has a lot of parts. KLOV'r Audiomidiman (chompingquarters.com) has side art for sale.

Don't forget to search for Zeke's Peak as well. It's the same game, just with a more family friendly theme.

I think I might be getting it for around $550 to $600.
So from what I've heard so far that looks like a done deal then, right?

Well if it's a completely working ICB in nice condition I'd say that's a fair price. I paid about half that for mine yesterday; However, mine although in relatively good shape cosmetically, does not work.

What are the problems that usually arise with the game?

Ive seen multiple ICB sell unworking/unrestored for $600-ish in the last few months.

550-600 for a working one is a great deal.

I bought 3 a little while ago and have been working on them.

Problems I have encountered (thanks to all who helped me so far, especially pcjohn):

The bases are all totally destroyed. Need to buy new ones (I ordered 3 from spacebaby)
The power chassis all have at least 1 bad bridge rectifier.
The belts are all broken. I bought some from marcospecialties.com, but the Bob Roberts method should work as well.
The vertical bars and horizontal rod are gummed up bad with old grease, cockroach legs, etc.
There are many switches in the game. Some needed adjusting (use test mode).
-->I found some were actually miswired.
Someone tried to wire up a "free play" button, and wired it wrong (NC instead of NO), causing the game to not keep score.
The bezels all have some amount of cracking/peeling. I believe these are due to be repro-ed by Phoenix Arcade.
The CPOs are all cracked at the right angle turn in the front. These repros are available now.
Don't overlook the balls. Mine were nasty and had tiny pits/chips. New ones from marcospecialties.com are cheap.
The playfield has grease/oil trails from where the ball comes out. Be careful cleaning that.
The back doors were in fair to poor condition. I replaced them.
The 4 limit switches need to be adjusted to be "just right"
Typical stuff with the cabinet (wood chips, peeling vinyl, side art, etc)
There was a HUGE spider making its web inside one of the power chassis, which viciously jumped out at me and caused me to hit my head on the cab. It hurt.

One game is blowing a fuse, haven't figured out why yet. I know it isn't the power chassis, playfield, or board (swapped in known good parts from other machines). Must be coin door, control panel, or wiring harness I guess. Probably another radioactive spider waiting for me in one or more of those places.

My luck.
I set up to get the game and he now tells me that he hadn't talked about selling it to his wife and now he told me he's not selling it.
Oh well..........

= he changed his mind OR will sell it for much more knowing there is a market for it.

Yeeeeeah the odds are far less that the wife wanted him to keep it and more likely that his "wife" if he has one would be glad for it be gone. He probably found this site or a ICB machine on Ebay and saw $$...

Wow. What kind of spider? (I know - "big", right?) :D

I guess the first question is which ice cold beer are you looking at since the craigs list link was down? The one from Taito from like 83ish or the Ice one from 2003?

Anyway OP as others have said if you find another one 600 bucks in right out of the warehouse condition needing repair. This is what I've seen them around here for. Less for ones in real bad shape. I've seen them go for 1200+ in good condition and shopped. This is for the 80's version.

Fun game though might want to follow up with the guy in a few days and see if he changed his mind.

It's the 1983 cabinet.
He e-mailed me mentioning that he pulled the craigslist ad.
I'll probably give him a ring the end of this week just as a last ditched effort.
