So after it snowed last night, I let my dog out this morning, and it occurred to me...... I think Q*Bert was the bad guy......

Here is my theory.... beyond him having the worst potty mouth.....
What if Q*Bert is "marking his territory" on every cube, which changes the color (.... maybe now you see the reference to letting my dog out after it snowed)
That and I could almost imagine him saying "Mine" as he jumps ....
"Mine, mine, mine, mine, *waits for springy snake to jump off the side*, mine, mine"

What are your thoughts?

you clearly have not seen Saturday Supercade which covers Q*bert's backstory.

You haven't put enough thought into this! lol

Are you suggesting he's one of the seagulls from Finding Nemo?

I think you are correct! This changes EVERYTHING. Everyone with a Q*Bert game, please realize you are now supporting the bad guy, and list your game for sale CHEAP... I will be happy to take one for the team and buy your Q*Bert from you...

Hmmm, the cubes on the first level do turn yellow. :)

I think to label Q*Bert a "good guy" or "bad guy" clearly oversimplifies the matter. To truly understand his motivations I think you need to take a historical look at the Cubeverse and the plight of Q*Bert's people along with the other prevalent beings and cultures that must coexist in the Cubeverse. It is imperative to examine and identify the historical constructs in which Q*Bert, Coily, Ugg and Wrong Way live, work and ultimately exist before jumping to any conclusions about their morality or motives. Even if these individuals did not exist, the fact remains that the Cubeverse has a limited amount of resources and livable space and the overpopulation of such space is going to cause social unrest regardless of who lives there. "Good guy" or "bad guy" is a relative matter of perspective in this instance and I think that it belittles the plight of ALL indigenous beings of the Cubeverse to place these false constructs upon them.

Sounds like I'm not the only one here with a Bachelor's degree.

On a related note, is PacMan the bad guy?

Why are the ghosts so intent on killing him? Could it be that Pac and his wife are vermin infesting the ghosts' maze home, eating the stockpiles of dots that the ghosts worked hard to save up?

Things that make you go hmmmm...

Kyle

So then it's survival of the fittest?

PAC Man is definitely the bad guy. He was a Shylock and killed Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde for not paying their debts to him. Their ghosts are haunting him.
