In my recent search for a Popeye, I have seen a few in blue cabs that had the original vertical mounting bolts in them. I have even seen a couple in orange cabs with those bolts visible through google image search. I haven't seen any documentation saying it was available as a kit, but I assume it must have been. Any members that used to operate games back then remember? Just a curiosity I wanted to indulge.

Thanks

I can't say for sure, but I've seen some odd popeye conversions in some non-nintendo cabinets.

Don't know that I've ever come across any DKs or DKjrs in non-nintendos....

Yes, I own a boxed conversion kit, comes with a populated control panel, board, harness, bezel, etc... Have a dkjr kit also, so yup they made them.

Sweet. Did it, by chance, have an alternate manual? I've seen the Mario Bros. kit manual and it just basically describes what to replace and discard and how to apply the new MB side art, etc. Thanks for the confirmation.

I think somewhere I saw they made other kits to put in midway cabs, but I may be wrong on that.

You are correct! I personally have a couple Nintendo vs. control panels for Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man Midway style cabinets. They came straight off a distributors shelf. A friend of mine has a couple Donkey Kong Jr. marquees that are the same size as a Pac-Man marquee. He's had them almost 20 years. They look original Nintendo product.
