I am looking for a Karate champ cab but having little luck near me in NJ.

Was this cab commonly converted to something else I should keep an eye out for?

Thanks,
Malice95

It's usually in a generic Data East cab. Off the top of my head, Kung Fu Master came in the same cab...

Commando and B-Wings were also shipped in the same Data East cab as Karate Champ.

As far as what K.C. was frequently converted into, pretty much any of the popular jamma titles from the late 80s to early 90s... Street Fighter 2, Golden Axe, Shinobi, TMNT (2 player), Wrestlewar, Ninja Gaiden...

Kyle

They do come up fairly frequently though. It might be worth the wait rather than grabbing a similar machine and converting.

Isn't it always the way....a fairly common game becomes rare once someone expresses interest in grabbing one.

Thanks Guys.. I guess I'll wait it out for another month or so before I start hunting down a conversion option.

Maybe something will work out if I find a cab that I want near you, you could pick it up and we could meet half way since I have 2 of your project wants!

I saw one go at auction last month for $150. Dedicated, working. I kicked myself for not bidding. I would/should have taken it.

A sawz-all? nice!

Talk about the wrong tool for the job.

Yeah they might as well have used a sharpened piece of flint to pound the holes out, it remains one of the worst hack jobs I've ever seen. I wound up covering it with painted plexi and converting the cab into a Jail Break, I didn't have any Nintendo parts to restore it and this was before Ebay. The was also a mouse nest up behind the marquee, how the hell it got up there escapes me, but people have certainly found worst things than that in cabs (NO dildo pictures!)

that was kind of what I figured, I've got one that's pretty clean I fixed up last month and don't really know where to put it.

...right into my arcade! ;) I will store it indefinitely for you for free!
