was i the only one influenced by the set of "Silver Spoons"?

watching this show set the templet of arcade collecting (even back then) but who would have thought that i would actually have these machines in my own home!! it may be corny but it i had to bring it up! while we're at it who can name the games they used?

Yes. Watching SS, put the idea in a lot of our heads, for certain. Of course, I never thought it would happen because Ricky Stratton was rich and I wasn't! I think he had Pac Man, Asteroids, and Space Invaders. I know there was a couple more.

That place is 5 miles from my house!! It is INCREDIBLE!!! Do a youtube search for 7 1/2" live steam, there is some INCREDIBLE stuff out there!!
It makes this hobby look CHEAP by comparison!
:)

Yeah, I was totally influenced by Ricky Schroeder. I never even though it was possible to have an arcade machine in my house before that. It took me a while, but I finally achieved it.

Between this show, and the movie "The Toy" I was amazed real people could have games in their house!

I know the kid in The Toy had Space Duel and Haunted House

LOL

Good thread ;)

I see here that they moved them around a little.

At :45 in on the second one, you can see Gorf, Asteroids and Tempest. Gorf has a white pinstripe on the inside ... that's kinda different! I also saw a Pac cabaret in one of the shots.

Oh, and Erin Gray is hot!

That def looks like a Dragons Lair in the first vid...but it's too pixelated and blurred to tell.

They'd rather dance like idiots than play video games? Priorities are all wrong.

this is a funny thread

I had a buddy come over the other day and he called me ricky. I said RICKY he said yes this reminds me of silver spoons. Those where the good days.

I saw space duel in the movie the toy, I also want one of those cheesy robots like from ice pirates, or rocky II, or the series riptide.

I don't have a robot yet.

I swear I saw Dragons Lair in Silver spoons, but I might be wrong.

Yeah, I did a short write-up on my website back in 2008. I'm with you, Ricky actually gave me hope as a kid that someday "I" could have some of these games in my home. I just never imagined I would have 38 of them, compared to his 5.

Ricky had an Asteroids, Tempest, Pac-man cabaret, Gorf and Dragon's Lair.
