A friend of mine had a cousin who was a huge Ted Nugent fan and bought a Nugent pinball somewhere about 20 years ago. The cousing had a bad marriage, alcoholism (ran in the family), then committed suicide in '03 or so. The pin was given to the sister of the deceased, she stuck it in a small trailer with a fold down back door and it sat there for 8 or so years. Fast forward to last summer, my friend had been trying to get the pin for years, the sister finally relented and gave it to him. He had no way to pick it up, he asked me to, so I did, he said I could just haul it home and put it in my gameroom. A week later he said I could just have it.
So I've finally decided to start messing with it. The playfield glass is broken courtesy of a hammer during an arguement, the MPU board is missing, and the SB-100 sound board is also gone.
I can find a replacement MPU board, but I haven't really seen any SB-100 boards floating around. I'm guessing nobody has made a replacement for it? Will the pin play without the SB-100 board?
If I get replacement playfield glass cut, does anyone know offhand the exact measurements? I know I'm being lazy, just thought I'd ask before measuring myself.
The playfield has some cracking on the guitar where the strings are. What's the optimal way to deal with this?
I figure if I get the pin going I'll probably give it back to the friend, he gave it to me because he's clueless when it comes to electronics and just wanted to save it from the trailer. The pin was in really nice shape before that trailer. I'm somewhat indifferent about the pin, I have the lone personal holy grail pin (Space Invaders) and I'm happy with that.
