Have a Warp Warp machine that I got recently. When plugged in, it rebooted over and over. Swapped out all of the 2114's and it came up fine for a few hours. Then when it was powered on later, it shows a RAM OK , ROM 8 error. I pulled all of the ROMs and verified them on my EPROM programmer against the ROMIDENT online database, and all of them checked out just fine. The manual does not show which ROM would trigger a ROM 8 error, only ROM 1,3,5 and 7 errors. I guess the next step would be to check the ROM enable lines with the scope to see if one of the ROMs isn't getting enabled. Any ideas on this one?? Thanks in advance!!

So last night I had a chance to break out my scope and probed the /CS lines on the 4 EPROMs and they were all pulsing like they should, so now I'm a bit lost. The 4 EPROMs check out when compared to the MAME ROM set via ROMIDENT. Still getting a ROM 8 error.

Maybe an open data bus line somewhere between one of the ROMs and the data bus??

Guess I will check that next.....

I am currently getting a RAM 4 error from the board on my test bench. It was working fine but after a 2 hour burn in, the RAM 4 error was on the screen and now the board boots to garbage.

Yeah, mine was working fine, and now the ROM8 error. The ROM 8 verified good. I checked continuity on the address and data bus lines and all was good there. /CS on the ROMs had activity. I went ahead and removed the 4 - 32K roms and modded the board to one 128K EPROM. Still get the same error, so I think I have a problem with address bus line 12 or 13, as those are used to select ROM8. Also ROM8 is the second ROM that is in the games code sequence. Since the game does run the self test fine, that tells that the first ROM is being addressed fine, and that the data bus lines are OK. Perhaps someone else could chime in here that is knowledgeable on this board??

Anyway, if you get that board up and running Phet, post back and let me know what ya found wrong with it. Hopefully it's only a bad RAM, and not the mess that I'm going through with this board!!

Sounds good. I've got a friend that is gonna look at mine for me, but in the meantime do you know where the schematics are posted? Id at least like to check out this RAM 4 business before I send it off.
