Warning! Time Warp Approaching..."The Lost Highway Chronicles (Episode I)" Released!

Finished listening to it(finally) and I liked it a lot! :beerchug:

The only criticism I have is I wish the characters would have stopped announcing who they were every time they got on the radio. Early into the 4th audio file we knew who they were by their voices so imho I don't think it was a needed announcement.

I don't think that wasn't too harsh, was it? Because I really did enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to Episode II. :)

Yeah I gave John similar advice in private. The thing I liked about it was the successful way the audio painted such a vivid picture. Twice today I caught myself thinking about the story as if I had seen a movie, complete with sets, locations, ufos, robots, etc. Streamline and expand the dialog a bit for the next one, and it could be something special.

Thanks for the critique Jeff! Not too harsh at all! LOL

I realize this thing is FAR from perfect; and I would never be arrogant enough to claim I created something without faults. I'm taking everyone's comments/criticisms in a good way so I can do better on the next one.

Oh, one of the reasons I kept "announcing" the characters every time they transmitted was because that's the way we did it when I was in the Navy. Doesn't mean that it sounds good or that I shouldn't have done it the way you mentioned. I got in a mode with blinders on and never even thought about it. This is good advice Jeff. Thank you sir, and I'm glad you enjoyed the story....

Thanks for your critique as well Phet. It means a lot when someone gives me their honest opinion. There's TONS of room for improvement in Episode I; and I plan on using the things people have pointed out to me for my benefit in creating Episode II. Thanks again

Hey John, I now have the Lost Highway Chronicles in my Truck on a constant loop and the kids love it. My son Layne keeps asking me to pause it when I drop him off at daycare so he can hear the rest of it when he gets back in the truck. When the chase scenes are going on you can hear him back there yelling "Go! Go! Shoot em! Get away from the aliens!" Awesome. Just thought you should know.

Phet, you just made my day my friend. Thank you! I'm glad your son likes it...

He loves it. My daughter actually does too. She likes to answer the characters when they ask questions on the radio. She usually makes up silly answers then laughs at herself. It gets better the more you listen to it.

My son absolutely loves The Lost Highway Chronicles, or "The Bortex" as he calls it. We still listen to it about twice a week and are anxiously waiting the second adventure. He's a chilling pic of one of the characters from the author's home gameroom:

If you haven't yet purchased the book and CD, do it now.

I appreciate you guys bumping this thread. To hear that everyone likes it (despite some errors) gives me great joy. It means even more when it mesmorizes kids. I thought you'd like to know I'm working hard on Episode II. I just got my computer back from GeekSquad today (after about 10 days) and now I can implement a lot of things I wrote down on paper while my computer was out.

Oh, and because you guys bumped this up, I got an order from a klov member that had not seen this thread until now. Thanks again!

John, I just ordered my own copy a couple of minutes ago. I recently moved to Fargo, ND from the south and I am excited about both The Lost Highway Chronicles and the possible opportunity to see your arcade one day. Looks very impressive from all of the pics. Take care and thanks.

Thanks Dustin, I appreciate it. I just packed up your copy, it will go out in the mail tomorrow. I hope you can make one of my parties. Keep next October in mind LOL
