Warning! Time Warp Approaching..."The Lost Highway Chronicles (Episode I)" Released!

Congrats on getting this done! Looks like a ton of work went into it!

Thanks. I really worked hard on this project. Took me over a year to complete; not sure of an exact "hours" count but it's in the hundreds.

I didn't realize just how much work was involved until I started to record voices and sounds, etc. Some nights I would spend 6 hours just searching and listening to different sounds; then taking those sounds and adding different effects to them, i.e. how does it sound in reverse, or with distortion, or slowed down 50%, or a combo of all 3?

This was a massive project but I loved every minute of it.

A big "thank you" to everyone who bought a copy so far. I really appreciate it! There's a number of people that are on the verge of giving some feedback here so stay tuned....

I finally had a chance to listen to it on the way to work today and I really enjoyed it! Today was my day to get the kids from school, so I shared it with them both. My 7 year old absolutely loved it and can't wait to finish it (we only had time to listen to half). I was pleasantly surprised that my 5 year old was following it too! Of course he loves everything that his older brother likes, but this was different. He actually said, "oh no!" when they spotted the vortex and was totally into it too. Again, great work John!

Glad you and your boys liked it Jon! Now you have to go to the website and solve all the easter eggs and trivia.....

I finally found the time to listen to this. First off let me apologize to John for my tardy review. Second, if you're reading this and you don't already have a copy of this, then you need to go to his site and correct that asap! The entire production of this is done on such a professional level that it is amazing to think that this was made entirely by John. I've done some basic audio and voice work on some VERY simple videos, and I have to say that the time it must have taken to produce this is more than most people would imagine. The amount of work that went into this, the story and the sound effects, is truely a labor of love. The story holds your interest the entire time, it's very suspenceful, and reminicent of old radio shows and even the original Twilight Zone. I just love how this provides a backstory for all the cool things in Johns arcade. The only thing that I would change would be to add "commercials", either actual recordings from the golden age of radio, or new productions - maybe an ad for The Lost Highway Arcade, or a surplus store that sells gas masks and geiger counters, or a movie theater that is premiering "Creepshow"...

Great job, John (and crew)! Thank you for the work you put into this. All you guys that are on the fence about this, you need to skip a few Starbucks or brews this week and buy this. It's only $15! Come on, we're all basically geeks here, and it shows support for a fellow klover. :D

What's the eta on Episode II? ;)

It is well worth the $15. Not only do you get the book and disk, you also get to go to a web-site with many extra things to do. I love the commercial idea. John, make it so! Sorry, I'm a Star Trek geek.

Thank you very much Greg. I'm elated that you enjoyed it so much! I poured my heart and soul into this thing, never taking any shortcuts. Thanks for the ideas as well. For reasons I can't explain I never thought about adding in commercials to the production. There will be some in Episode II no doubt.

ETA on Episode II? Probably another year or so. It takes a long time to put the whole package together, and it's never something I'd want to hurry with. I have the Introduction and Part I written already....

Thanks Keith; and thanks for coming over and helping me move Sky Diver down into the arcade!

Just finished it last night and looking forward to the next installment. 7 yr old asked questions - relevant ones - meaning he listened and "got it." Sounds like it may be time for audio books and more radio drama.:D

Glad you liked it Paul! Hey, has anyone solved the easter eggs and trivia without peeking at the answers first? LOL

I listened to this twice in my truck and really enjoyed it for the most part. The sound effects are awesome and the music really builds the suspense. I liked the simple dialog, seemed like it could have come from the 40's.

Glad you liked it Phet! I know it's not perfect, but I had a blast creating it and did the best I could at the time. (This shit ain't easy lol)

I'm working on Episode II now; I hope to make it a lot better using the ideas, criticisms, and honest feedback everyone has given me.
