Warning! Competitive Products does NOT have new CRT monitors

Went to their website, ordered a few monitors, gave them my info including credit card. Received confirmation. Next day get a call from Mike at competive products to tell me that they do not have any of the monitors listed for sale on the site because they are no longer made, instead he will sell me flat screens.

This is misleading and fraudulent. It's a bait and switch ploy and it really pisses me off. If I had known I wouldn't have given up all that personal information. I told him he needs to pull the products off the site. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

If running a business like that, and there's a change in product, there's NO reason not to update the website, unless they're a) lazy, or b) attempting a bait and switch on some level.

I buy from them constantly, it's a matter of laziness on updating the site. I call in all my orders. Last order they were out of leg leveler plates, but charged me for them. The next day i had an email that said "OOPS!" and they had already refunded me.

"If I wanted a flat screen, I'd just play these games on my laptop" would've been my response.

They have good prices on the stuff they actually have in stock. That is if they charge you the listed price (they like to upcharge). They also have a ton of stuff listed on the site that that has been out of stock for years. It's always best to call your order in to verify stock and price on everything.

I hope I never need anything from there. Never ordered from them and it doesn't sound like I want to.

I ordered 6 standard switching power supplies from them about 3 weeks ago. Web site said items were in stock. About 4 days later after not getting a shipping notice, I emailed asking when they would ship out. I got a reply saying they were out of stock and expecting more supplies in 2 - 3 weeks. I could cancel if I wanted to. I emailed back saying to cancel order.

Today I get a shipping notice from them and my biz account was charged $156.xx.
WTF.
I do not understand how mail order houses can operate like this.

That's crap. I'd dispute it, if nothing more for the principal of the thing.

I have yet to deal with them. I was given their website by a guy who rebuilds my monitors to pick up some flybacks and coils. Sorry that I posted them as a supplier of monitors and if it was my post that lead you to deal with them I really apologize. Thanks for the update.

Sounds like DPtwiz has had some mixed luck with them. I guess it's more of a matter of cost over customer service.

It has happened to me twice now where I have ordered something on the website and them find out several days later they are out of stock. Can't stand their website either.
