So at one time I had two Warlords cocktails. I sold one to a friend, and a while back he told me the game was on the fritz. The shields and fireballs would show up on the wrong side of the screen.

So I took the PCB from my friend and it sat around for months. Finally I got around to looking at it, and there was a RAM error in test mode. I replaced one of the RAMs, and this issue above is resolved. However, while the PCB was in my possession, it has lost color. The color on my board looks great, but when I put my friends board in my machine, there is almost no color. It almost looks black and white.

Anyone know what the issue might be? I am wondering if the board got damaged while it was sitting on my workbench.

Thanks.

I read that there is a cocktail pin on the harness/board that has to be grounded and that is what makes it color in the cocktail. Maybe that has a bad connection on that board or something.

I kind of doubt it since it is working fine with my own PCB. Also, I *think* that the text and everything would be reversed as well if it were upright mode. I can also start a four player game no problem.

If they are socketed on both boards try swapping the PROMs at N7.

Next, replace D8 - a 74LS174
