Warlords CT monitor swap trouble - scrambled screen

Hi guys, took a good looking monitor out of a working centipede cocktail and put it in my working warlords cocktail. The connectors weren't the same color so i spliced them.

Connected:
red/yel to red/yel,
green/yel to green/yel,
blue/yel to blue/yel,
then magenta to purple
and tan to olive green.

The game starts up and plays but looks like this (attached)

Found and tried all adjustments i could find.
1. focus
2. black

3. r
4. g
5. b

6. ?? did nothing
7. ?? did nothing

I'm so incredibly frustrated with monitors!!!

Thanks,
Dan

Here is how i have it wired, i noticed that there is a double purple connection from the monitor that wasn't on the old monitor. And an extra black wire on the power, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Any help much appreciated.
Dan

On the monitor:
Hitachi
type: 370ESB22
SN: M1E249773
Model: LR 26413

On the Metal frame/housing:
Electrohome
13" COL GAM MTR
38-G07910-00
GO7F80
LR 40363

I tried all different combinations, also cut the double purple wires (sync) and tried them each separately with the magenta. Same results but with rolling added to the fun. Put the 2 purple back together and rolling stopped but scramble is still there.

I'm fairly sure Warlords is neg sync while Centipede is pos sync. Suffering from CRS today.

Let's see a pic of the monitor chassis

SUCCESS!!! Mostly!

My friend Hal asked me about adjustments and helped me fiend the V hold, V line, H, etc. I was turning the wrong knobs! The ones I needed were in disguise. They had the white plastic knobs missing so to me they looked like AA battery connections. So I stuck one of my boys toy swords in there and turned them. Viola! The colors are incredible and the pixels are super sharp.

The only thing now is the castles are a bit warped but I'm very happy. Any suggestions for that?

Thanks for your help,
Dan
