Well, that cat is out of the bag.......

I have been working on offering a complete Warlords CT metal kit. The kitt will have EVERY metal piece in that cabinet. Including the coin box, lock cams, interlock bracket, access door "U", all grills, legs, control panel, hinges, top brackets, volume pot/test switch bracket...EVERYTHING. There are 28pcs in total. Every parts is either powder coated, anodized or yellow zinc plated. The kit is $460. Shipping is TBD but will likely be an exact cost to you from 60051 with a few bucks for materials. Due to the large investment on this, I would have to have 20 presold or I simply can not do it. I am not offering individual pieces at this time. Only the complete kit.

I have also been shopping around and getting quotes on a complete harness. Professionally made at a harness shop made from an original unhacked harness. Harness will include whole cabinet harness and both control panel harness'. Cost is $145

Brett/DPTWiz has my Warlords CT copied and is ready to make them and should have pics up of the sample cab shortly. Sale price is $260

Darin/Phoenix Arcade also has made the Glass & overlays but is running low on stock.

Luke/Tronic has said that he would make PCB blanks if the demand is there.

The parts you would need to make a complete game are minimal. Raster power brick, coin acceptor, volume pot, 4 controller pots, test switch, Monitor, PCB & bezel. Im sure there a few little things im forgetting.

If you are interested in this project, please post up here. I am looking to do this during the first quarter of 2012. Specify Harness, Metal Kit or Both.

yes, word is out! I am at about the same time frame here as Troy, 1st part of 2012, i have to get my current orders done first. I did cut most of a sample cab, and i am going to go cut the final parts tonight, and proof everything.

I still have to source some woodgrain of some sort for the cabinet ends, the proto was made from a woodgrain Melamine, that i got purely by luck, it was a partially broken sheet, that was a protective top sheet i got on a skid of birch over the summer, and i can't order it locally :( i will post a seperate thread as soon as i get it together, and link it here too so you can see what it looks like.

As a quick note, the Commodore 1084s monitor is a perfect replacement monitor for Warlords Cocktail. You will have to make a bracket to hold the monitor boards but you can find the monitors relatively cheap and more importantly, burn free.

It's what I used to restore mine.

Also here is a source for the stickers on the side of the game:

I've been planning on doing just that (1084s) after seeing your post on it before. :) I love those monitors. . have one in my garage for my test rig.

What were the two original monitor models in Warlords anyways? It wasn't entirely clear to me given the Atari model numbers in the docs, etc.

I know the CT has a sanyo 14" (can look up the model number tonight, if no one else posts).

Good luck trying to find a 14" model anywhere. They don't make them as far as I know.

Trust me I looked. That's what led me to the Commodore 1084s. Same tube.

I am in for one harness and one metal kit.

Also in for a PCB blank if the interest is there.

14" Sanyo would pretty much have to be taken from a parted out Nintendo cocktail. I actually picked up a 1084 monitor AND a 14" Sanyo which should be waiting for me at home (thanks to Culcuhain on the Sanyo).

I already have a Warlords CT, so if the minimum for preorder is not met I can just get that stuff recoated I suppose, but would prefer to just build a new cabinet with all new parts and sell this one off as-is later.

Thanks for the link on the sticker set, ordered!

@ DptWiz:

I already pre-paid for a CT cabinet from OU_Flight since he is local and also offering them. Can you detail the types of wood you are using to cut your cabs? I was planning to get mine done with black melamine MDF on all parts except the hinged top, bottom, any inside pieces not visible from the outside, and control panel undersides (that would probably be done with ply). Does that sound about right, or are you using something better?

I'm in for a metal kit and a harness.

Bill

I pulled my monitor, and I couldn't find a model number on it.

However, I have seen people use a new 13" WG monitor and it looked beautiful and I couldn't tell that it was an inch smaller.

An inch smaller on a 19in monitor may not seem like much, but trust me, an inch on a 14in is a big deal. I would say to anyone willing to build their own Warlords cocktail, be sure to put in the "big" one...:)

Besides I don't see what the big deal is... Nobody likes Warlords cocktail anyways

I hope this get its minimum. If Quantum did I don't see why this wouldn't.

Sucks though, by the time I get home I will have a almost complete (but reaking of rat poop) cab, a minty fresh repro cab, a 1084 monitor, a 14" Sanyo, 2 sets of repro glasses/CPOs, repro stickers, 4x new rheostats, new cocktail end caps/plugs, and a rebuilt PCB waiting for me. But still there will be more waiting (don't see much point to putting the old harness in the repro cabinet, and don't feel like hassling with finding a blasting/coating outfit). :(

Oh well... I suppose even once the minimum is met with that many pieces to produce it will be a while. Maybe I will just rebuild the shit-tastic cabinet and then when this project is done I can have a repro and a original.

Did anyone ever make repro Tempest spinner knobs?
