I picked this game up about a year ago and have been wanting to get to this in a bad way.

I cleared a garage full of projects to bump this up.

Warlords is one of those games that is very approachable by non-gamers and gamers alike, because of its simplicity. I already have a spot saved for it.

Here she is when I picked it up.

Real nice shape, needs new overlays and has some rust from being stored.

I ordered new glass and overlays.
A big thanks to Darrin for making these awesome reproduction pieces available and bringing them with to last years Holiday Lunch gathering, and to MrBill08 for carefully bringing them back (I could not make the lunch).

I tore it down over this past weekend
Here it is after removing all the metal

Pieces parts that are now being blasted and powdercoated

Took the rest of it apart and gave it a good scrubbing

Thanks to Jeff I replaced the Big Blue with a Big Grey
I cleaned up the rest of the power distribution block since I was at it.

I cleaned all the wiring and everything that was removable from inside and started to reassemble it.

I am unsure if I am going to keep the stock monitor in it or replace it with a NOS 13inch Vision pro I have been saving.

All the metal is out for power coating ATM
I should have it back with a week or two.

I still need to find a Replacement sticker set
Square tubular end caps and replacement leg levelers

How much will it cost for you blasting and powdercoating? Mine could use it as well.

Arcadeshop.com carried the end caps but I don't see them listed anymore.

I was quoted ballpark 125 give or take a few bucks for both blasting and powder coating.

It's a local shop and the first time I'm using them, so we will see how it goes.

That seems like a fair price to me. There are quite a few pieces.

I haven't sourced anyone up here that does both blasting and powder-coating yet.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing the progress.

You can get the end caps at www.videogameparts.com

Also I will add that the last time I had Atari c/t metal coated it set me back $45 bucks, I think he gave me a deal though because of mutual friends.
Thanks for the link
I am pretty ignorant when it comes to powder coating prices but they were one of the more reasonable and nicer fellas to talk to on the phone so they got my business, I did call a few and these places and this one was the closest too. One guy quoted me over 200 bucks for 10 pieces?

I received a phone call this afternoon
My powder coating is ready for pick up!

Anxious to put this all back together

Some fresh powder looks good

A little spit and elbow grease and some fine steel wool produced these results

I bought these at Lowe's Furniture Glides
They are just slightly larger in diameter than the originals.

Some new adhesive backed 1inch square cable tie-downs for under the control panels
Picked these up at Menards

Put her all back together and checked to see if everything was working.

My kids and their friends play a game
After the first 2 games they started ganging up on each other to eliminate the previous game winner first, they were shouting and laughing.

My nine year old came running downstairs and said "Whats going on? Can I play?" It was fun just watching them have a good time.
This is why I enjoy the hobby so much

Gah!?!

I hope those grubby kids washed their hands first?!?

Geez, all that restoration effort and already you let the unwashed youth corrupt your nice game with their rock 'n' roll/devil music-influenced blasphemous digits? I bet those wicked smiles are shared knowledge of cherry bombs in their pockets, poised to burn in your coin returns. Stink bombs too, I bet! Achtung!

Btw, thanks for the furniture glide info.

Awesome restoration!!

Bill
