i have a wargods cab that i took wargods out to run mortal kombats with a switcher. My question is since wargods was stereo with left and right speakers. How can i make sound come out of both speakers for mortal kombat ect

wire the two speakers in series.

For instance:

Left speaker negative to the game boards negative, positive from that speaker to the negative to the right speaker, positive from the right speaker to the positive on the board.

I've done the series thing on a War Gods cab before. the amplifier on my MK2 didn't like it too much after awhile. :p

I would thus go parallel instead. take the pair of wires to the left speaker and cut the quick disconnects off. take 2 wires for + and 2 wires for - and splice them in, then run those to the 2 speakers.

be mindful that some Williams/Midway games that use volume pots positively hate that stereo JAMMA harness and you will have no sound at all. if anyone knows the logic and reasoning behind why this is, I'm massively interested.

I suppose it depends on the impedance of the speakers in the cab. 2 8 ohm, parallel should be fine. 2 4 ohm, nuh uh. I wouldnt drive that crappy amp on that MK board into a 2 ohm load.

they're 8 ohm. but yeah. the bass cut out on my MK2, which in Williams-speak means it's running too hot from overdrive. no permanent damage was done, so it was just a little hot, oh... 8 years ago.

A 16 ohm load wouldnt do that. Something else was likely wrong.

So wired them up in parallel and sounds good. So 2 8ohms speakers are ok wired in parallel ? Just make sure i don't kill amp on the pcb
