Wanting to the best way to hook up gfi outlet in cab

I was going to ask a dumb question. But I am wanting to know the best was to hook up a gfi out in my cabinet. Was wanting the main power to go into the gfi outlet and plug in the switching power supply to one outlet and my marque light to the other outlet. And if I do it that way will it be ok. Would rather trip the gfi in the cab just in case the house plug is not on a gfi.

Thanks in advance

GFIs just wire in the same as normal outlets. Hot to hot, neutral to neutral and ground to ground.

No it's not going to be by a pool. But I have seen other games with outlet in them thought thatbwas a good idea. figure if I was going to put an outlet in it might as well spend a little more and put a gfi outlet in there.and If figure if there was any power spikes it would trip that first then fry game board or other electronically parts. But I might be worng on that to.

A good line filter and some Nice MOV across the terminals will take care of most power spikes.

If you want to kick up the crazy notch.

This will get you 120 volts even if your input voltage swing from 95V to 130V AC

If you want to kick up even further.
A Nice UPS will not only protect you from power spikes. When the neighborhood goes black you can have a little fun playing your arcade game in the the dark.

While you think a UPS is over kill, Normally you can find them cheap or free when thier batteries goes dead. Just remove the batteries and use the unit as a nice cheap line conditioner.

Or just go to Fry's and buy a new battery for about 25% of what APC wants and if it is local you save a TON on shipping as well (those little suckers are heavy for their size ).
