I was wanting to know about flat screen lcd, monitors, and tvs. I was wanting to convert all my games maybe to flat screen. Is it possible. I know some games are crt, vga, ect. is there a universal converter board to be able to do it will any game unit. or is that even possible. I like the look of a flat screen. Can I get some good flat screen monitor, tv's, and lcd to use. and a good convertor to hook up to it so I can use them..would like a universal convertor board so I don't have to figure out whats what.

thanks in advance

Flat screens = waste of time and money.

They look terrible in these games. They might be OK for some, but in general, you are left with a rather ugly, fake looking picture.

Save your money, save your sanity, stick with real arcade monitors.

The quickest (and most costly) way to do it is to use Happ LCD monitors and accessories:

Without knowing what games you have, it is difficult to tell you what you need. But there is enough hardware available from different vendors to be able to convert any game you have to whatever display you want. You will just have to decide what you want to do and how much $$$ you are willing to spend.

I have to say, make sure you see some games with a flat screen in person before you start converting - it makes FAR more of a difference than I would have thought possible. Some people like them, some don't, but make sure you know what you are getting into before you spend a bunch of cash on converting things.

You old timers are crazy! I used to want to keep everything "authentic" but then I realized, I needed to "get with the times".

I started with my orignal pac man machine, serial number 565. I removed the 19" CRT and went with a 55" widescreen 1080p instead. Then I removed the joystick and installed an X-Box 360 controller. Way more comforatable to use on the couch! Next I removed the Pac PCB and installed an X-Box. It plays way better games! The next step in my restoration was to remove the cabinet and various other dusty parts to the garage. I think the final restoration came out pretty good.

my friend,I am not as purist as most fellows here, but some things are standart.
older games need at least proper audiovisual and controls,or else you lose the magic they can give you
