Wanted: Cinematronics or VectorBeam Coin Door with Connector for Space War

Hey all,

the subject says it all. I'm pretty sure the Cinematronics or Vectorbeam coin doors for all three of their games are the same. I need one with the molex connector. It would be nice to be able to add credits to Space Wars with it lol. Thanks all.

The door is actually the same one used on Midway games (older style).

As to wiring it for a cine/vectorbeam game, just follow the pin out and wire it yourself. You can either try to find a mating molex or amp connector (check your manual) to the one currently in your game, or change the connector on both ends to match (Bob Roberts, Mouser, etc). it really isn't that hard, just takes a little bit of time.

If that's an original coin door then they must use two types. Here's a picture of my Vectorbeam Space War which has a different door but I have also seen Cinematronics Space Wars with the same door.

I may be wrong so someone correct me if so but I think Vectorbeam was made first and they were bought out by Cinematronics so I think the first ones made by Cinematronics must have the old style Vectorbeam coin door. Just a guess.
Here's one with the Vectorbeam type door.

I know mine needs the longer rectangular one rather than the more square one. It would be great if they were interchangeable but it just doesn't look like they are. I just want to add credits to the darn thing for now lol. I was able to use some alligator clips and attach them to the molex. Good news is I can set off the game counter. Bad news I still don't get time added. Ugggh.

Cinematronics Space Wars was first and the first vector, they hired and payed a royalty to the guy that created the game. His name escapes me. When they stopped paying him he left and started Vectorbeam and made the same game, but dropped the "s" and we have space war. The companies share many many parts as he just sourced from the suppliers he already knew.

The space war coin door can be found on cine games like star hawk...

star hawk, rip-off, sundance, warrior, barrier spped freak and tail gunner also used the larger door.

I might have one in storage..

I think some of the early atari doors (sprint 2, breakout) are pretty close..

PM Rhombus or email Andre aka www.arcadesolution.com I know he had the older style rectangular one not too long ago. He asked me what he had in an email and told him what it was. I had the same version on my Space Wars cab as well..
