My original control panel had a heavily burnt overlay.
It's where the kids in the late 70's and early 80's rested their smokes when they were playing a game.
A complete used panel in fair condition will cost me around AU$250 delivered to Australia and the repro overlays are out of stock.
Instead I decided to get the artwork printed off on gloss paper and just lay some perspex (acrylic) over the top of it.
I picked up the printed artwork, looks great...
I got a new piece of 3mm perspex cut.
It's now installed over the new artwork and I'm happy with the result. AU$25 all up and it looks like new again.
I'll order some new buttons for it tonight.
What a difference! Do you mind if I ask where you got the artwork file from? I think I'd consider doing the same to mine until I'm ready for the restoration a couple years down the road.
