Wanted. Smart Industry Candy Crane PCB 6th generation

Hi,
I have a candy crane play till win 6th generation made by smart industry. Two weeks ago it started to have a problem, at the starting of the game, the claw will move to center of the machine and as soon as I touch the joy stick, the claw will drop for a little bit and then close, then move to drop-off position. I called the smart industry tech support and he said that the voltage on the 5 volt line is too low and it shows by the green led on the pcb never go away. I went to get a brand new power supply but still have the same problem. Now they say that the pcb is bad and it will cost me $200 to get it fixed. Have anyone have a spare 6th generation smart crane pcb for sell? the part number is 237-0122-01. Or do you know someone who can repair the pcb and do not cost me arm and leg? thx

I may still have one or two left. I'll check on Monday.

I met Jeff Smart at IAAPA.

it was a pretty anti-climactic experience.

Smart sucks rather extensively. I don't know why they offer e-mail support on their site, I've been waiting 9 months now for a reply back.

I sent you another PM this morning.

Before you go through the expense of buying another board, check the following as what you described I have had happen in the past:

If as soon as you move the joystick it is triggering the claw drop, normally this is caused by the actuator being too close to the drop switch on the bottom of the joystick and the sideways movement is enough to engage the switch. Disconnect one of the wires from this switch and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then you will need to adjust the actuator or replace the joystick as the push rod could be bent.

How far does the claw drop before returning to the home position? If it does not drop at all and just close, the claw has wound up backwards. Check the string and see if which side it is wound up on the take-up spool. It should be on the right side. If it's on the left, you will need to re-string the crane and add a knot to prevent this from happening again.

Yes they do.

I gave up with Smart support back in the early 90's.

Hi Coinopdirect,

I did remove the wire from each of the joystick one by one ( Left, Right, Forward, Backward, Drop) and the claw still did the same thing. It drop down about 2 cm and then close and move to the drop position. I did get the tech support on the line, his name is Tony and he asked me to look at the led light. My board the green LED light never go away and he told that there is a problem on the board in the 5V circuit. He suggested me to replace the new power supply and I did. The problem still exist with the new supply so now he said that the board is the problem. Tony has mentioned that he has 6th generation board shipped to him for the repair all the time.
