since my repro didn't turn out as good as i had hoped it would (and nothing can beat original), i'm once again on the lookout for a jungle king monitor glass bezel!

if anyone has one (including the instruction card at the bottom), please contact me. :)

thx a lot!!!

I have one but it's flaking all over. Still usable, but no where near perfect. I am gonna toss it if nobody wants it. I think Richie Knuckles has a (huge) 800 DPI scan of the JK bezel that he did. He sent it to me, but then I found an acceptable original from QuarterArcade. He printed his out on cardstock and sandwiched it between 2 pieces of glass. PM him for the details.

right now i have a printout attached to a piece of plexiglass, but the problem with the printout is the top of the cutout where the masks and the "tarzans" are. on the original those figures "reach" into the transparent area whereas that area is entirely black on the printout. PLUS i like the idea of the instruction card BEHIND the glass bezel. noithng can beat original parts.

thx for your offer on the flaking bezel though, but i have to decline if the condition is that bad. nevertheless, thx for trying ;)

I wasn't really trying that hard, just thought I would let you know that I had it and it's heading to the trash otherwise. Need to clean this place up.

Why don't you try a little creativity with an exacto knife and try to trim out the parts that should be transparent?

These are pretty hard to come by and I've seen flaking on ALL of the ones I've come across.

I've got a spare, but the paint on it is broken up too. Not really flaking off like I've seen pinball glass delaminate, but it's like the image has shrunk, leaving a cracked-earth effect.

Get yourself a flaky one until something nicer comes along.

That, or improve what you've put together. Send pics.

Good to see my old control panel again. ;-)
I look forward to seeing it finished.

As for the bezel...
It looks like the black inner border is simply too wide on the reproduced one. Can't you edit the graphics file from Andre and trim that down? Someone here could certainly Photoshop that to bring it in line with the original... including the mask and tarzan section at the top. Also editing out the spot where you would attach the instruction card to the bottom, rather than printing that too.

Alternately, as kstillin suggested, use a straight edge (and a seriously sharp exacto or razor blade) to trim the applied one yourself.

By the way... nice job so far!

if i can't find an original bezel, i'll ask someone to work on it - not happy with the result at the moment. it's ok, but not perfect!

thx a lot! but now comes the difficult part: stencilling that b**** and putting it back together without damaging it again ...
