I was approached by my mom on behalf of the valley community church in el monte, ca to acquire a few arcade machines for their new children's center located in the old fellowship hall. They have a limited budget, and would like to cater more towards kids in the 6-12 year old range, so I am thinking more puzzle or cutesy games and sports instead of war and fighting. I was not given a set number of games to get, but was told that at least 3. Apparently the hall is the size of a small auditorium and will also have a stage and electronic basketball. Please let me know if you have any games that you think would be good and what price you'd be willing to sell them for. Thank you,
Stuffmonger.

only vids kids of that age would play on location is driving games or ticket games or shooting games.
since shooting games and ticket games wont work there, you are pretty much limited to driving games or prize games.
if u can get a pinball machine, thats what i would suggest.
video games dont work anymore, especially with the younger demo. all the games they need r on their ipods, phones, ipads...and their games haev better graphics and are deeper.
its all sad but true.

this is also speaking from a church aspect where we have games at the church rec center.
we had ping pong tables and pool and foosball as well, but then the paddles, balls and sticks and table fealt tore up. those are for older people.

I have to agree. Vids are not a great idea for that environment. You want games that will encourage interaction and most vids don't really do that very well. They will end up sitting unplayed for the most part I suspect.

I think a 2 player simultaneous game like Mario Bros. would be good. Kids in the 6-12 year old range would probably enjoy a Playchoice 10 with some good games as well. All the kiddies know about Nintendo!

@salmart & fizgig: could you guys give me a picture of the digdug and arkanoid please?

I know arcades are mostly dead, but I want to at least give the kids a chance to get into some of the fun from back when.

i hope it all works out. was just trying to get you a heads up. ive dealt with this at more than one church in different areas.

most of the time what adults think will work or is cool, the kids wont.
this is also speaking in terms of all locations.
an idea would be to actually ask the kids what they thought, grab some ideas from them.

well, from the sounds of it, my mom will want me to put the games on freeplay for the church, so hopefully that will give some incentive to get some interest.

Ok, so I have an update. They are looking to start off with up to 5 games that will all be set on freeplay for the kiddies. And, they'd like to have them setup my the end of march if possible. As stated previously, games must not be violent in nature. Please send me your offers so I can relay them. Thanks!
