i'm looking to replace some of my monitors with bad burn in... looking for elecrohome/wells 19" tubes in northern california (near san francisco bay area preferably)

tubes must be working, chassis not needed (but will buy them also)

i haven't begun experimenting with tube swapping (from tv's, etc) yet and hoping to avoid it

i have some pcbs, headers, bezels, parts i can trade as well as cash

thanks

I've done the TV tube swap... looks like new when complete! What a great picture they produce! I've replaced the 10pin tube on a WG4900 on two monitors now - you have to swap the yoke on these. I've never found a TV tube that its yoke had the same or similar readings as the WG4900. Mark everything before you start and just make sure that the purity rings go back exactally where they started on the donor tube. Getting the yoke in the right position can take some time. I've also done the TV tube (8-pin) swap on a WG7000 series monitor without movng the yoke and just using the donor yoke since the readings were close enough. That was pretty much just plug and play, no adjustments were needed - and, it has been my best tube swap to date - great tube, colors are incredible. Don't be afraid to try it, Craigslist has plenty of 19" TVs for free and also $10 or less. I plan on swapping a couple more in the upcomming weeks.
