OK, looking at building a new game room on a new house.

I have about 40 games ( 5 cockpits, others are upright) and looking to get 1 more cockpit and 8 uprights.

I want to have a 3 1/2' x 7' pooltable in there too. And of course, a jukebox.

Any ideas on how big of a room it should be to give ample spacing and playing of the games/pool table?

Any advice is appreicated!

If you want to really figure it out, get out some paper and a ruler - cut out pieces to represent the machines, juke, pool table, etc and lay them out on paper or a table or something to get an idea of how you might set them up and have it work. You can try different configurations, etc pretty easily, and don't forget that there needs to be space in front of every cab, and lots of room around the pool table.

There's also various electronic ways to do this, but this is the kind of thing I prefer to do with paper.

graph paper makes it even easier, just remember that build dimensions vs. plan dimensions never quite match up.

I like the number 1220. Just wondering how that was calculated.

Thanks for the help guys. Thought a few more in here may have a room that is dedicated that would accomodate my games (and future growth!) :)

I know the average width of an upright. I can calculate it out pretty close. Anyone have the site that you can do a layout online?

It's half the size of Luna City or it's basically the size of a six-car garage. :)

Space between games or rows of games should be factored in as well. I say figure up the minimum space required, then double it (you can never have too much space).

Are you doing a detached structure or an addition?

Have any Amish around who can build you a barn? That is if you really want enough room, but that will fill up eventually too.

Send me the dimensions of your games and how much room you want for your pool table as well and I can sketch it up in AutoCAD...Do you have a rough layout of the door openings, etc?

I draw up all of our house plans on AutoCAD before I move new furniture into rooms to see how it would best fit. I finished my basement using drawings that I made. It was pretty fun to draw it all out, get the permits, and then build it myself. Lots of work, but felt great to get it all done...

It will be an addition.
