Looks super easy to make...?

Damn fugly, though. You seriously want one??? More power to ya.

I think one of those in the bathroom next to the toilet might be cool .

If I didn't have the space for an upright cab or a cocktail, I would probably just buy a decent desktop joystick for the PC and be done with it. For me, a lot of the joy I get out of the hobby is the nostalgia of the old cabs, and a wall mount doesn't do that for me.

Do you have any woodworking and/or mame experience? It's not too hard to make something like this... If you were closer, I'd help ya. (And make sure you made it look a lot better than this... :D )

You can do that with LCD's? I am so not a computer guy.

Anything is take-apart-able. ;)

Having said that, I don't imagine the case adds much thickness to it... If I was going to build one of these crapstrosities, I would probably just leave the monitor casing on...

If you DO go through with it and want a smaller monitor, I have 10 or so 15" VGA monitors that were mounted in GT cabs.
They run on 12VDC and are made to be mounted to wood and have remote boards.
I should have an ad up over at BYOAC as soon as I get around to testing all of them and numbering/getting pics of each.

contact eaconner on here .. he built a little donkey kong cab that will knock your weiner stiff.... he will share his plans with you or send you a kit for a good deal..

That example is just a really shitty implementation of a good idea for someone low on space. Its totally lacking an arcade game vibe without a marquee and some nice art. Exposed trackball plate kills any hope of a decent looking control panel.

You can totally hide an LCD without decasing it with just some black foamboard and tinted plexi. The plexi will serve the double duty of improving the crappy black levels of an LCD. I would go for just a skinny cab that stands on the floor over a wall mount. There are many examples of that on the BYOAC forums.

If you mean a bartop / countertop machine, I'd do that over a wall-mount any day.

Yea, bartop or cocktail. not sure yet. Ive had a DKJR taking up 1/3 of my familyroom for the last 2 years. wife is still "allowing" me ot have an arcarde, just goto think of smaller choices.

I decase them to give it a cleaner look, yes I'm sure it isn't necessary but I think it looks better.
