I recently began restoration work for a large lot of Wall Games. I am looking for anyone with documentation or parts. Also, once repaired most of these machines will be for sale by the owner. I intend to create a technical database for these machines during my repair process as well. Here is a list of the games I will be working on, keep in mind that there are multiples of almost all machines:

Trapshoot (Gremlin)
Foul Play (Gremlin)
Tenpin (Gremlin)
All Star (Gremlin)
Play Ball (Gremlin)
Super Bowler (Sunbird)

I am aware of the wallgames.com website and have been communicating with the owner, but his resources are limited and I'd like to find others.

Thanks,
OZ

I don't know of any real additional sources of info but I'm definitely watching this thread. Show us some pics. I love these things! I wouldn't mind having another one...they don't show up that often though. Are they all complete? Do you have controllers for them all?

Thanks, I use this website all of the time but I didn't look in the video game archive for these game manuals. I am starting with Trapshoot, and it appears that the complete Trapshoot manual is here...

I don't own these but I will be doing all of the mechanical and electronic repairs on them and, as part of my compensation, I will be taking one of the machines. He thought they were mostly complete, but as I went through his parts I found that he was missing quite a few important pieces, such as some of the PCBs and many remotes... He also has no documentation at all.

I am starting on the Trapshoot machines first, mainly because this is the one he wants to keep and there is more online documentation. After that I will go through the rest of the Gremlin machines before tackling the Sunbirds. I'll most likely create a seperate website for these, but I'll post links to updates here...

Trapshoot (Gremlin)

Does the Trapshoot have a white screen or black screen when it's turned off?

As for all of them, do they have cracks on the screens? That's the killer on these guys. Hard to find with no cracking.

Definitely interested, but shipping would probably kill the deal. We'll see!

I would love to have one of these things! Especially the table tennis one (ping pong).

When I went to pick up one of my pins, a guy had a couple of these hanging in his rec room. If I recall, there was a baseball, skeet shoot and the ping pong one. It's pretty cool hearing the relays click on these; he even told me that you can time it just right when the relays click to hit the button....

He had a couple of non working ones in his crawl space... I should see if he wants to sell one.

I was originally planning on bringing my Trapshoot Classic to CAX but it looks like it's not going to happen. Maybe next year though. Has there ever been one there?

Good stuff. If you come across the manual/schematics for the Trapshoot test system could you scan it please.

Is there a seperate manual from the one on the arcarc site? It seems very extensive to me. If you are talking about a manual for a factory test fixture I will be sure to share it if I find it...

Both Trapshoots have black screens when turned off, in fact I believe all of the Gremlin machines have black screens. I didn't notice cracking on the others either but I just gave them a quick one over, I certainly would have missed any minor cracking.

Are you asking about cracks on the black screen or cracks on the painted screen? I didn't notice any cracking on the trapshoots (black, outer screen), but the one I have at home is pretty dirty and I haven't cleaned it yet.

I can't speak for CAX, but assuming I have a fully functional unit when the next Seattle show comes around I will be bringing it to the show. Frankly, the one thing I feel that our show lacks is variety...

my buddy just won an auction on ebay and had it shipped through the UPS store for $180, so not too bad.

I want one at some point.

Cracking on the front viewing screen itself (the black screen). They material used gets quite brittle and cracks easily.

Here are a few preliminary pics of the Trapshoot. I have been documenting the parts I want to replace in order to rebuild the power supply(s) in the machine as well. If anyone wants the lists just send me a PM.

This main board, the largest PCB I have ever seen, measures 5' by 2' 7". The two sub boards plug into headers on this side of the main board while the other side consists mainly of light bulb housings soldered into place.

Yes those PCB's are large!! There was a guy that supplied new coin box and remote stickers a few years back.....I could do with some for mine.

Trapshoot for the Iphone...that would be fun!

Do you have any idea where he went? Did he advertise on a forum or sell through Ebay? I was thinking about having Rich repro the art but if someone else has already done it I see no sense in replicating work...

trap shoot

I have the Gremlin and the Newer CES trap shoots. Along with a few other wall games.

I have been experimenting with using LEDs for the Clays on Both and the Clays and Scoring on the Gremlin. Need to find some that are not as bright. The remotes along with the receiver can be replaced with more modern equipment. Still using the Same remote box. Or picking up a similar replacement box. The 120volt fans are a bit noise and newer lower sound fans can be found.
On the power supply sound board I ended up replacing all of the electrolytic using the Cap checker as a reference.

I started to experiment with using a newer power supply and it turned into a trace cutting night mare given the different voltages on the sound board that the game requires alone.

All of the Light sockets had to be cleaned. (300). The gremlin game uses to different bulbs. One for the game back ground and clay paths and one for the score segments.

Biggest problem I ran into was the connectors that pug into the main board. A lot of cold solder joints. The size of the game makes it hard to work on. I ended up clamping it to a table and using a mirror. The circuit descriptions in the Gremlin manuals are very detailed.

You will need a good supply of 7400 log IC's and sockets along with the 2 driver transistors for the Lights. TTL cook book. Log probe and a Bug Trap or Hp logic checker/comparator.

Most of the Transistor on the board end up being flattened and twisted. I had to go threw them with a dental pic and straighten out the leads.

Either pickup the Manuals on ebay or Print them out and put them in a binder. I have a couple of the manuals and the notes techs have left behind have been very useful. I do a lot of pencil writing in the manuals. Especially when you are tracing 1's and 0's.

I am in for sticker replacements for the Gremlin game remotes and coin boxes.
