Walkthrough Video during my son's New Year's Eve Gathering

So, I finally got everything ready in time for the annual New Year's party. Things were a little different this year, because my 16 year old son invited a number of friends over from school. Usually, it is limited to family and close friends.

I know that everyone on here loves "lit up" pics and videos, so I decided to do a walk-through video. I was surprised that the "walk through" took about 5 full minutes to do, once it was all said and done. Had I talked about all of the different games and special modifications/multis, there is NO TELLING how long the video would have been. I'm going to definitely have to make separate videos for a number of these project games. This was done without any preparation, and this was the very FIRST video for me to create with my wife's new camera that I bought her for Christmas. It is in full 1080p HD, so if your internet connection and computer speed will play it back "smoothly", you will be able to see more detail, as it is dimly lit.

The Joust cocktail, Dragon's Lair and Dedicated Space Ace are all working, but this crowd would not have even ATTEMPTED to play them, so I left them turned off. Sorry. I also did not have time to prepare and move in a number of other games, including an F355 twin, a Daytona USA 2 that I am turning into a Sega Rally 2 and a Namco "Quick and Crash" target shooting game.

It was really noisy, so you probably will have a hard time hearing my comments, and it wasn't until after I made the video that I found that there was a different audio setting on the microphone to expand the field of sound. Guess I will just have to experiment to see what works best. Anyhow, hope you ENJOY!

My son seems to think that everyone had a good time. I am still recovering from all of the last minute preparations. In the middle of the room along the wall where the Neo Geo, Joust cocktail and Outrun 2 Special Stages twin are located, there was an 8 foot biliards table just two days ago! The "new" equipment is the Outrun 2 and the Neo Geo. We also set up the Kinect along with the Wii on the projection system (the Kinect is new), but people played the Wii more. Hard to beat the "Pick up and play" nature of bowling and archery in Wii Sports Resort...

WOW I had no idea such a nice home setup was so close to me (I'm in Nashville but have relatives in Huntsville and used to live there back in the early 90's). Think I heard some Pat Benatar and Muse in there. Cool!

Killer game room, really nice. Would be nice to see a video of your Dedicated Space Ace.

Happy New Year...

Very nice setup! Great selection of games, and I love the home theater right off of the arcade.

I don't know how many times I have said this, but- Wish we had basements here in Florida. If you could imagine having to use your main living area/rooms for games, and you took your basement away, that's what I'm dealing with. I'm lucky I have a very understanding wife, as I have pinball machines in what used to be my dining room! :)

Of course I could just buy a bigger house, but adding 1,000 sq. feet of main living area would be ridiculously expensive.

Glad to hear that you guys approve. Yes, you DID hear Pat Benatar followed up by Muse. It's too bad that you can't hear how it sounds in person, as the speakers in there have a REALLY nice sound. It has 4 GoldenEar satellites and two large velodyne subwoofers on opposite ends of the room. The audio mix that was played (when Child of Eden wasnt being played on the Kinect setup) was a mix of 80's, Muse and some select other music that I feel fits the theme of the arcade.

I DO need to make some individual videos for a lot of my games, as a number of them have custom and multi-game capabilities. The pedestal setup that had Street Fighter 4 on it will play PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and original Xbox (which has a decent MAME on it) all though the arcade controls. I have already made an individual video of that setup using my iPhone that is on my YouTube channel. So, if you watch this video on YouTube and look for my "other" videos you will see it...

I didn't think to turn on the Joust, Space Ace and Dragon's Lair before making the video. Now I wish that I had. There is just NO WAY that anyone would have played them. They were more into the racing games, pinballs, Rock Band, the rifle game and the Wii setup. I had been meaning to make a video for some time, but until now I didn't have a good enough camera, and I didn't want to make one until the Billiards table had been moved out to make more room for games and to spread things out a little...

Bump for those who might have missed this when it was first posted, due to still being in "recovery" from the night before...

I'm beyond shocked there is anyone on KLOV who knows who PB and Muse both together are. Awesome!
