I'm trying to slowly restore a wacky gator I got off of craigslist recently. My first goal is to replace a faulty motor under the gator second to the right. I've gotten all the gators up and unlatched the front latches, but I can't seem to get the play field to move. What am I missing to get this machine open? I can't see anything else that might be keeping it in place. Any ideas?

I've also taken off the wooden blocks that keep the gators locked into place.

there are three latches much like a control panel latch under the front lip of the play field. I think it's left middle and right side. You reach through the top coin door. From there the whole play field lifts out. It's pretty easy. Your Gators should come out w/out taking out any wood blocks. They should only connect from the Molex into the harness.

I didn't find three latches. Can you get a picture of these latches? If not I understand. I'll just continue looking. I just want to get that motor replaced before I concentrate on the gators themselves.

If you can also point me to other places than Happ that has parts for this machine I'd really appreciate that. I'd also be interested in extra side art as well depending price. Thank you!

Oops, there were only two...

Well if you felt around you would have found them. They are bolted to the front of the machine and they latch that metal rail down. That rail is the blue piece that is in turn bolted to the playfield that we are talking about.

I have tons of Wacky Gator parts too. Must have trashed about 5 of them over the past 6 years. Got lots of experience with the game too. They just put out a new version of this game in 2013 from Namco.

If you're still looking for pieces, I'm about to tear down one; got it in a lot and I don't do redemption games. Cabinet is rough and a bear to move so I figured I'd go ahead and part it out. If I can help someone out I'd be thrilled to get the stuff in someone's hands!!
