Wacko owners interest check-freeplay rom

I think radio shack has the 24 pin sockets (chip holder right?)
I may even have a couple extra's lying around

on a side note I just had a few wacko trackball rebuild kits made. can't wait to get one put together either tonight or tomorrow.

Good call, I'll check there tomorrow. Man these legs are flimsy. I haven't bent a chip leg in years, but these socket legs, man, much like Fritz, they bend if you blow on them.

BTB, where do I get another 24 pin socket? I was trying to insert the one you sent me for my Burgertime freeplay/HSS and I broke 3 of the pins off.

You brute! :004_sbiggrin: Let me know if you can't find one local... if I have a any tough machine-pin sockets left I'll toss one in an envelope for you.

I really was not pushing that hard, I just noticed that one pin was bent, so I tried to straighten it out and reinsert, then another one got bent. By the time I noticed the 3rd bent pin, the first 2 broke off. Tried to straighten the 3rd one, it broke off. That's when I noticed one of the holes still had part of a chip leg still stuck in it. The other 2 still had tiny solder bridges I didn't see when I held the board up to the light. Oh well. At least it wasn't the chip itself I guess.

I had 20 of these freeplay chips made ifyou need another one pm m e. lol
they will be collecting dust I'm sure.

Hey Matt, finally made the cross-town trek to Radio shack. They only have 4, 8, 16, 20 and 40 pin IC sockets, no 24 pins. I even ran over to Computer Renaissance to check, nothing there either. I'd love one of you fine heavy duty sockets. Thanks for the offer.

I'll dig into my stash tonight and see what I can find.
