Firehawk618 I really appreciate that. My plan from watching you guys is to tear it down in order to build it back up factory fresh 😊 I will definitely keep that in mind once I get to where it's all going back together. Really thank you
Please please please, just get it playable for now. I've seen similar scenarios in the car hobby as well, and trust me, you don't want to put yourself in a scenario where your old man didn't get a chance to play it because you were redoing the CPO. Stay focused on that priority, first. Just my .02.

The crew on this site will move mountains for good ppl.

I am blown away by this community and still can't believe it! Just got home from the trip over to Terry's and wanted to again say thank you for your generosity. Terry gave me pretty much everything I need to get this together plus extras. Not much to track down besides the game board and whatever comes up during rebuilding. Gonna start with the cabinet and work my way to the end! I don't have the right words to express the gratitude I feel but it's there!

The adventure begins!!

Pics to come.

Project and all parts were picked up, just need to test some of my pcbs and get a working smb setup. I think he really wants to make the cab look like new, not my thing but whatever floats your boat...

I agree with what vintagegamer has to say on this topic.

I would say get the game together and playable... THEN work on the cosmetic restoration WITH your dad as he feels up to it. You get the best of both worlds... you get to see him enjoy the game, AND you get to spend time working with him and building memories. In the big picture, what the machine looks like isn't near as important as him being able to play it, and spending time together. My 2₵.....

Quick update! Cleaned out the cabinet and disassembled all the metal pieces. Wiped it all down and took stock of what's needed. Still need to get a board set with Vs. SMB. Once I find and purchase the pcb I can test to see what's working/not working. Will update as much as I can. Next few weeks are busy at work.

Wow Firehawk618 is unbelievable! Thank you for the board! Man one of these days you guys have to let me pay :) I'm stoked to get this back together and surprise my dad. Between you and Terry I'm just about set. The only thing that might give me grief is the monitor, but Terry has given me more than enough parts. I think get one good one together so super appreciative. You guys are something else! Hope to update with pics soon!

I will have an update soon! As of now I've stripped and cleaned the cabinet. Removed the pcb cage and wiring in order to get it all setup on my workbench. My plan this weekend is to get everything wired up in order to see if the power supplies are working as well as the monitors. Since I know the PCB works (TY firehawk) it should help to troubleshoot the aforementioned issues! My goal is to have this testing all done by Sep 1st. Will update with pics and im sure there will be a few questions for you guys! Thanks and talk soon.

Ok well I am currently working on the cabinet. The cabinet that was given to me by Terry was in pretty good shape overall. I repaired a few minor dings and some issues with the monitor mounting bolts and am close to getting it primed. I have everything hooked up and so far I know that the PS is good and the PCB from firehawk is 100% working. I am stuck at the monitors. I am having issues here. Terry was awesome and gave me a Sanyo and a SHARP monitor. So far in my testing one monitor has no color or sound. And the other I have not gotten to yet. I hope to soon. Looking forward to troubleshooting and then implementing repairs. I just started troubleshooting so bear with me. I will post some pics in the next few days. Im sure you guys can tell what's happening just from the pics. More to come soon!

Also where would you guys recommend I look to find the best replacement control panel overlay for a Vs. SMB?
