Hey guys first time poster, long time lurker! I am finally ready to start my first restoration on a machine. I've been watching you amazing guys for years and decided I've accumulated enough knowledge to at least give it a try.
The first arcade id like to restore is for my Dad who is battling through Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Its a horrible thing to watch him suffer. My family is hopeful though!
His favorite arcade game back in the day was Nintendo Vs. SUPER MARIO BROS. He's always wanted one of his own but never made it happen. Id love to be able to restore one of these machines for him. I know it wont be amazing like some of the restorations ive seen you guys create but i think i could give it a good go. Either way I know it would make him happy and just having it around would hopefully take his mind off other things. I live in Arlington, Washington but would travel to neighboring states if I had to. Ideally i could find a complete project machine locally in poor shape that I could repair. I'm about 25-30 miles North of SEATTLE and if i cant find locally id travel a small ways into Oregon or Idaho. I am more than willing to pay for one of the cabinets i just cant seem to locate any near me! Anyhow thanks for taking the time to read my ad it is appreciated! Please let me know what you have. Ill attach a few random pics i found on the net but im sure you guys already know the cabinets im describing.X9El9J7&tn=JWFiuaTgRotonwG_&_nc_ht=scontent-atl3-1.jpg52239321621c33a7e0b3371da5408dfe.jpg12323df84780b30265664c454237ef7a.jpg

Just to let you know, vs Unisystem conversions in DK/Popeye/DK junior cabinets were very common. Probably a lot easier finding a standard Nintendo cabinet and turning it into a vs SMB. This was a vs Dr. Mario I put in a Popeye cabinet.

I can't seem to find any Nintendo games/project games/cabinets etc in my area. I have the money, desire, willingness, etc. No one realistic has messaged me. Everyone that's contacted me thinks I'm a noob who doesn't know the FAIR value of what's being offered. I am a noob just not that kind. I'm still on the hunt looking and waiting! Appreciate you guys!

Honestly, an empty Nintendo cabinet without a monitor should run you between $75-125. If it comes with a monitor, I would think around $250-300 tops. Hell, I've given empty ones away in other trade deals before. Wish there was a way we could do a Cabs across America promo. Say you found one 1000+ miles away, Each guy along the way could drive 50 miles or so eventually getting it out to you. Oh well, just keep looking locally. You'll find one.

Southern California is quite the distance from you. But I don't know if this price for an Upright Dualsystem project would entice you. It's been converted and the listing has been up forever. Maybe you can talk them down and get a couple quotes from Beltmann or others to get it freighted up to you

Just saw this and can hook you up with a FREE project cab, monitor and most all the parts to make a working smb, not sure on CP but they're easy to find, monitor may need sound repaired, was going to make it a Popeye but never going to get to it so will just pay it forward

Good on you! This is a prime example of how community is supposed to work! I'm certain karma will smile back on you multifold!

Peace and Love,
Dylan

You know that alot of you dudes on the WC could bring this thing back to life in a weekend bc you're so damned impressive!! Get this thing back together ASAP so this dad can play!! Don't burn time on sideart etc, that can be done after the thing is back online.

My hat goes off to chrysis. Very honorable.

He's an awesome dude! Very nice T.
OP keep us posted on the project!
I will definitely keep you guys posted on the project! I messaged Terry! I still can't believe this. Sincerely Thank you. Once I get my hands on this project I'll start a new thread and share progress and pictures. I will have many questions I'm sure. I've learned so much from this community that I'm so very excited to use that knowledge to bring another one these beloved machines back to life for my Dad to enjoy and of course future generations. Ok more to come after I hear back from Terry. I'm grinning like an idiot haha goodnight guys

Just got turned onto this thread. I'm in Arlington also. Looks like Terry is hooking you up with most of the parts to get it going. If you need any help making it work feel free to message me.
Firehawk618 I really appreciate that. My plan from watching you guys is to tear it down in order to build it back up factory fresh 😊 I will definitely keep that in mind once I get to where it's all going back together. Really thank you
