I was helping a friend with his X-Men machine that plays blind. When you fire up the game, the monitor sounds like it is coming on, but it has no neck glow and nothing on the screen. I went to discharge the tube, and there was nothing there. No spark, no nothing. I disconnected the anode cup, and grounded the clip to the chassis...nothing.

What is the most likely cause for such behavior? I basically want to know if it's the monitor boards, or the tube. If it's the boards, they are going to Arcade Cup. If it's the tube...well...

EDIT: Wells Gardner 25K7191

doubtful the tube is bad. look at the flyback transformer there at the end of the red wire anode cup piece. is there a crack on the flyback? black ooze? check the fuse with a multimeter NOT visually. could be the HOT( high output transistor has died) is bad. verify you have 120 AC going in...

Input voltage is good. I did check that.

I will suggest he sends the boards to Chad at ArcadeCup.

There is no such thing as a 25K49xx. If it's 25" then it's a K5500, not a k4900.

Check your fuses first...

It's a 25K7191, as listed in the first post. I tried to change the topic title, but it won't let me.

we just shot a video last weekend working on a similar model with same situation. It should be posted later tonight or tomorrow. Let us know if we can be of any help.
