I ran across a good deal on a very clean Dkjr converted to a UniSystem. Now I don't know jack about any Nintendo machine's because I never owned one before. So please forgive any rookie questions.

1) In the picture #DSCN4676.JPG on my website I have some battery corrosion on the vs. golf main board. Whats the best way to take care of this problem?

2) I now have a humming noise in my speaker. The machine did not have this sound before I moved it. Any ideas on why the darn thing is humming?

3) Can I put a playchoice 10 mainboard in this machine? I really don't have a lot of room left so I want to maximize the amount of games in each machine. Since I don't jack about this machine or playchoice 10. Does playchoice come with 10 games onboard?

4) How much work would it be to convert the machine back to a Dkjr?

Some snaps of the machine are here.

I think I found the right info on the leaking battery issue.

50/50 solution of white vinegar and distilled water. Clean and neutralize the alkaline with some q-tips for the application then rinse with 100% distilled water.

Guess I will half to do a video for the humming noise. I know its kinda hard to suggest a solution with out any visuals.

Billy,

Humming is probably a loose ground. Check all ground connections on all metal areas of cabinet. If that doesn't work, you might need to recap the sound board on the monitor.

DKJR conversion, I think, is real easy. Simply need the PCB, the DKJR harness, remount the monitor vertically, new control panel and artwork and you're ready to go.

The humming is probably the audio board on the monitor needing new caps. I havent come across one yet with original caps that didnt have the legs rotted off a couple of them.
