I bought a Vs. Super Mario Bros (my first ever cab!) awhile back but never got the sound working. I did manage to get it to stop resetting (shitty connection on the PP-7B PSU). Next step, this damn sound!

Does someone have a close up of the sound board on their Sanyo EZ 20 all hooked up an perty? I recapped mine awhile ago but it was never connected 100% before that was done so I'm hoping someone can provide me a close up since I never got to see how it went in the first place.

The JD, DC, & JB connections are easy enough but the JA I'm wondering on. It looks like (my manual isn't beautiful by any means) I'm looking for a connector w/2 wires coming to attach to the 3 leads at JA. 1 lead goes to JA, and the other two are ground to the chasis (hence only needing 1 wire for those 2 leads since they just run to a node and get ground out?

Once I've got it wired and the speaker back in, etc. I'll move on to checking new things

I'll step out to the garage and look when I get a chance, but I just looked at the schematics, and they don't show any connection to connector JA.

Yeah I noticed that as well which is where the question came from :( if that's the case I have a random 3 pin wire/connector that I need to figure out where it goes haha.

Thank you very much! Let me know what you find.

if the IC (LM3900M?) on the PCB is blown then you get no audio too... I have like 20 if you need one....(I would replace both is one is blown.)

Finally got the camera back. Hopefully these 2 pics help.

first, the board itself,The arrow is pointing to the JA connector. I'm thinking the cord (in pic 2) attaches to it? The schematic doesn't show anything connecting though

Culcuhain, I'll get on checking that IC. Thanks for the heads up.

Again, thanks for your help everyone.

I just picked up a VS. Super Mario Bros. cab, I'm going to start ripping it apart to clean it up and try to resto it as it works great but looks shabby imo.

I took a pic of that connection for you:

Looks like you have the right connection.

Did anyone ever come out with any after-market audio PCBS? I have two Sanyo monitors and after re-soldering and/or re-capping them they either still produced that infamous hum or stopped working altogether.

Well I must be on a roll this week. I got my Ms Pac to go from no life to perfection (that was a very happy day) and now I got my Vs. Super Mario Bros sound going again :)

I did a little tinkering and soldering and what last week was a reseting Vs. w/no sound is now a perfect working Vs. Super Mario Bros, jeez the games a ton more fun with sound haha!

Thanks for the pics and suggestions. After a recap on the audio board and some tinkering I've got it working again!
