I was just wondering if anyone knew what these titles sold for, original chipsets/daughterboards.

Vs. Platoon
Vs. Castlevania
Vs. Excitebike

I've looked but it can be difficult to find what there true vale is.

Vs. Platoon - Not common either because it's rare or because it's a terrible game. I've never seen it for sale or anyone actually actively look for it. I have no idea what it's worth. Very little to me, but maybe a lot for a Vs. collector.

Vs. Castlevania - Great game, but almost exactly like the NES version. Though, chips can be swapped to have the daughtercard play Vs. Gradius as well. I'd say it's worth $70-80 for the complete daughtercard. Probably $90-100 complete with PCB.

Vs. Excitebike - Another awesome game with noticeable differences from the NES version. Most noticeable, the bonus level. Fairly common, but does use the much wanted PPU used for Vs. Balloon Fight (X2). I'd say it's worth $40-50 for a complete chipset. $60-70 complete with PCB.

Hey Jess, is the Japan Excitebike the same as the other one? I would like to recerve my PPU for Balloon fight.

I actually ended up with a platoon daughter card.I haven't tested it yet, but it's supposed to work. Thanks everyone for the info! I finally convinced my wife that a red tent was a great idea, and got ahold of one on sunday. He threw in a bunch of boards and some games, so I got outta there with a pretty good deal i think. I will probably sell platoon, and will post it in the for sale section after it's tested and I know it is working.

In that case, you did quite well then! You are now directed to go to John's (blkdog7) website and review all the games and ideas necessary for the Red Tent success.

Feel dont think, Josh, for that is the way of a Jedi.

Let me know if I can add you to the registry my friend. :)

Did you buy from a KLOVer? The reason I ask is that it's happened a couple of times already and I had to do some switching around of serial #s.

You sure can! And no, it was a craigslist find. I ended up with... platoon, goonies, 2 castlevania, and 2 exciteikes, rbi baseball and 4 extra working boards. I have only tested about half of it but so far they all work!

Man, you did get a great deal assuming you didn't pay a fortune and he threw in all those extra games and boards. Yeah, just PM me with your info and a picture and I'll add you. Thanks man! And congrats!

i paid 400, I thought that was sweet! I will pm you the info when I get a look at the serial.

Yeah, you got a great deal for sure. The extra games and boards alone are worth a big chunk of what you paid.

I paid about $400 shipped for mine and it only came with 1 board with 2 games (Top Gun/Golf which are less desirable that I eventually sold). Though, I did buy back Golf so I could use the chips and PPU for Wrecking Crew.

I still feel it was worth it though many on this forum would beg to differ. Whatever makes you happy. :D

That's awesome. you did get a sweet deal

so, you mentioned selling Platoon, but what about some of your duplicates? that Castlevania and the Excitebike... those will sell fast. Here is where I would say I want them, which I do, but I'm trying to save money, lol. unsuccessfully.

Great pickup! Keep in mind, you have doubles of the games, which means you have "extra" ppus. You can pickup the roms chips for just about any game and put them on the spare boards!

Thats what most people do, you said you have two excitebike sets right? ... Thats straight up Balloonfight right there buddy. One of the best tent games out there IMO.
