I had no idea there was one! I haven't played it much since getting the chip set and I was playing tonight and was pleasantly surprised. You get 15 seconds to go on ramps and jump over as many trucks as you can and get to the finish line. If you jump them all, you get a perfect 10,000 point bonus.
For the longest time, I thought the only difference between the arcade and the NES versions were:
1. The animations in between the races
2. The way you progress through the game (7 tracks, 2 races each track (trial/competition), different difficulty starting points)
3. No track editor
4. No 2-player head-to-head (This is beyond me seeing how it's "Vs." Excitebike. It was a feature only found on the Famicom Disk version in Japan after the release of Vs. Excitebike. I guess they couldn't think of the idea sooner).
Now I know there's another difference. It's really cool since a lot of the Vs. games are almost exactly like their NES counterparts.
Here's a youtube video I found of the bonus stage (go to 7:31): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf-nTOcH_ck
