I've been working on a VS. Dualsystem (very slowly) for about 6 months now. It's been an uphill battle -- a lot of things have been replaced. Most of the particle board was replaced with plywood, most notably. New CPO's. New T-molding.

A lot of things still to come -- monitors need to be re-capped and adjusted. I still need to finish the wiring harness (building from scratch, as there was none when I bought it). I'm still re-doing the coin doors (complete tear-down, strip, re-build). Still needs art. Basically, lots of work to come. I'm not necessarily going for minty-fresh, but I'd prefer it to not be water damaged and beat to hell.

But, today was a momentous day -- I got power, both monitors, and one side of the controls and sound wired up, meaning I could enjoy a little VS. Excitebike this evening.

Is it all downhill from here? Probably not, but IT OFFICIALLY LIVES. Heck yes.

And, to boot, I got a lot of nice tools out of the deal.

looks good that thing is biggggg i love the nintendo stuff never had one of those yet

Yeah, people told me to measure the door of the place I'm taking it to very carefully before I buy it... when I originally bought it, I had a garage, but have subsequently moved to a place without one. I had to take the front door off to get it inside... it's a beast for sure...

I love the Vs. Dual cabinets. I only remember one from back in the day. I think it had Super Mario Bros. and Excitebike. I would love to have one but I have no idea how I would get it down to my basement. I would probably have Excitebike and Duck Hunt if I had one, though.
