I have a vs. dual system that I picked up as an NBA Jam a while back. It was beat to hell, but I resurrected it, repainted it, powdercoated all the metal parts, replaced the broken plastics, all that jazz.

It currently has a mame computer in it, but I made adaptors for everything when I put it in. I have the original CPs, but they were pretty badly swiss cheesed when I got them.

I want that spot in the game room for another couple of games, but I am not sure what to do with it. I have been thinking aobut selling it as a 4 player mame, but I would expect a new owner to add random mame crap and destroy it.

On the other hand, I don't know anyone that cares about the cab, even though it has all the wiring (except as modified for the NBA Jam) and a pair of freshly capped, working 20EZs.

Not including the mame parts that I would probably keep, I have about $300 in the cab. I think I could get that much back out of it, but I also kind of hate to part out a basically complete game. Anyone interested in the cab? It is sail blue now to cover all the bondo work I had to do, but it has all new t-molding and such too.

I think it sounds damn cool as a 4 player machine. So you are wanting to ask $300, but it would come without a PC, Encoder, etc? What about monitor interfacing?

That will be a hard one to sell even if it was whole. I'd hate to see it parted though.

I might be willing to sell the whole thing as a mame machine, but then I would want 550-600 for it. I have an AVGAcloned to both screens, a KeyWiz for players 1/2, a GPWiz for players 3/4, all new hardware, the whole getup.

If I were to sell the cab alone, it would be for someone that had a dualsystem board and wanted to make it original. $300 for a pair of good 20EZs, plus the cab, angled glass, and all the metal parts (freshly powdercoated) seems like a good deal for someone who wants a dualsystem, but I think those people are fairly few.

Take the path of least resistance. If you have it set up for MAME, try to sell it that way. 4 player MAME sounds like an awesome use for a (IMHO) big ugly cabinet. No use in worrying about what people are going to do with things after you sell them.

If it wont sell as a MAME, gut it and try to sell it as a resto project with the good monitors. If that wont work, sell the monitors and cab seperately. If it makes you feel better, the monitors will be keeping other Nintendo cabs alive.

Just a thought.

Obviously I don't have all the trim/glass installed, but I do have it all, and it is all powdercoated. I hate parting out games.

I did get one nibble on it though. If it falls through, I might just part it out. grrr

My advice is...
go to John's pizza, admire me face on the menu.
And come back and see if anyone wants to buy it whole. :O)

Unfortunately for John's, the new Pizza Factory that opened yesterday has pretty awesome pizza and games that work...
