Hey all,

I recently picked up a Nintendo VS. PCB with VS. Dr. Mario on one side. As soon as I turn it on, I get a glitched out screen with numbers everywhere with a few of the sprites layered on top. The game still has sound, but all screens have the same issue.
Any advice on what the problem may be?

Any help is appreciated.

start by reseating chips. :)
This and include pulling the whole daughter card off and reseating that as well.
If you have another known working game, try it on that board while DR Mario is off of it.
That way it will rule out a pcb issue right away as well.

Tried reseating chips/daughter board and still had the same problem.
Switched it with another VS board I have and everything works fine.
It seems there have been some modifications to the non-working VS board, so I guess it's got some history behind it.

I thought Dr. Mario had a daughtercard. be mindful those things destroy the sockets. would machine pin sockets be a better replacement?
