I just got my hands on a Vs. Castlevania but I just can't get it to work right. out of the 4 hours of messing with pulling the daughter card in and out I was able to get it 100% perfect one time but when I went to secure the board, "bam" it was all glitched up again. I even cleaned each leg and re-situated the legs and nothing. I finally got so frustrated I gave up. It feels like the legs on the daughter card are just to long for the socket it settles in. Anyone else have this problem? Are all Vs. Games that are on Daughter Cards this frustrating?
Picture below of what the game looks like 99.9% of the time. I just give up for today, back to Vs. SMB.

I'm in the same situation with a vs castlevania daughter board. I can't get a good connection to see if it works. Right now, all I can get is a blue screen.

Maybe I need some type of spacer that goes between the daughter card and the socket on the Vs. board? Never owned a Vs. Daughter board before.

those can be quite a pain.youll have to put some careful force to get it to seat right. i had the same prob your having.. look at the daughter card to see if it looks level all the way around when sitting on the main pcb..if you got it once, its prob ok. keep trying. mine took me a while the first time

Thanks, I might give it another go tonight. It's such a bad design flaw. the legs are just to long. I feel if the legs were shorter it would sit in the socket better.

Yeah, it will not fit flush into the socket. The legs on that daughter card are quite thick too and it takes a good amount of pressure to get it to go in there. Good luck!

it took me a week worth of tries to get the CV and Goonies to work when I first got my Vs Cab....(this is what I did, and worked pretty well)I placed the PCB on the counter with a towel under it, placed the daughter board in the sockets, and pushed as hard as I could with out breaking the PCB (if you push on the PPU and CPU part, I noticed that it would go in even -there is about 1/4" of feet still showing) Carry the PCB carefully and place it back in the holder-dont let the heat sink hit the cage going in, it will move the card)....you should see a purple/black screen in 4 or five seconds, then the rom test comes up.

This is a common problem with the vs daughterboards. My advise would be to get your hands on a few pcbs and NEVER REMOVE the dbs once you have them working. It is easier to change pcbs and then you games will work when you want to play them instead of wasting your time trying to get them to work. I have about 15 different boards and just swap them out when I want to change games. Changing dbs only leads to frustration.

I've had the same issues with Vs. games...DBs & ROM chips alike.
They just seem to be very touchy.
Like a previous poster suggested, I just hav dedicated boards for the games so I don't have to worry about it.
