I am restoring this vs cab and making it mame. Before you start nagging about dont go the mame route let me explain what my goal for this machine. I will using a vs control panel and only have games that will utilize 1 joystick and 2 buttons per player, this control panel will not be hacked at all. What buttons are on the vs control panel is all the buttons this machine will have. I will have all VS. games on it including other games like final fight, gunforce, ect.. Here is some progress of what I have gotten done within this week. Please let me know what yall think. I still have another coat of smoke grey to do then paint all the black parts.

This is comming along really nice, this is my first attempt to do a complete restoration and ive been putting allot of effort into this cab. I am hoping to have it fully painted and have tmolding and corner protectors on it by sunday afternoon

That is looking great! It is so satisfying to smear a little Bondo onto a corner that is destroyed, and end up with a crisp edge that looks factory perfect. Always nice to see an old cabinet get a nice restoration, and I am a huge fan of Nintendo cabinets in particular.

Keep up the good work! :)

Well here is the second coat. I am going to tape it all up tonight and paint all the black parts and hopefully tmolding and corner protectors and coin doors on tomorrow

I cleaned up the control panel today. I took apart all buttons and the joysticks and cleaned everything. I also painted the carriage bolts black to match better. Heres a test pic of it on the cab. I still have painting to do on the cab.

I actually really like the look of the CP with the black bolts too. I might have to steal your idea on that one... This is going to look great when you are done with it.

Did you roll that? It looks gorgeous!

Yup sure, did, I used a ultra smooth foam roller. No roller marks or anything showed up. Went on fairly smooth, its not 100% perfect, has minor imperfections and a little dust but 99% than it was. Im very happy with it

I figured Id post what I have done so far, I gotta finish little things on the cab and Ill start putting the guts in soon, let me know how it looks, Im also waiting for my vs artwork in the mail, one side of tmolding isnt fully installed either

I got the side art installed. I was a little disappointed at gameongrafix adhesive quality, the adhesive actually pulled off some on the art work when peeling back the wax paper. Also the sheet it was attached to wasnt cut through all the way so I had to take scissors and cut out the artwork :(. It doesnt look that bad but it doesnt look excellent, i have little air bubbles up top but over all it looks pretty decent to good

You can resolve your air bubbles by making a pin hole and using a card of some kind to squeeze the air out. Why did you put corner protectors on it?

Yeah it looks good, but lose the corner protectors. They're usually just used to hide shit that's broken, not to protect it as their name would imply.

Those bottoms were busted and that's the main reason I used them, I don't think it looks that bad, I'm trading this for a mint revolution x when I'm done

This came out awesome so far.
I hope I can make my tent system look as good as you made this look after im done restoring it

Well I finally did some more work on this project. I wired the control panel to the keywiz and tested it and it works great. Here is a video of me testing it. Please keep in mind this is not the front end ill be using nor the list of games Ill be using this was just for testing.
