I am looking at help putting one together or buy someones homebrew not looking to spend 5 or 6k on one. was thinking of a mini also have a few 23in computer monitors i could use one for a mini playfield also have a 42in tv if building a larger one. thanks for the link no idea new ones ran that much!
He has two flippers per side. If you wire the encoder inputs for Magnasave and upper flipper to one switch (push one button, get two keypress outputs), you can play almost any table you could want since none of them use both upper flippers and Magnasave.
Also check on VPForums.org for other builds and info.
The other area to consider is if/how you want to do nudging. Buttons like flippers on right/left/front (least expensive and no calibration problems), Ultimarc's U-HIDG (limited inputs, calibration challenges), Nanotech controller (some calibration and heat sensitivity issues), homebrew with round magnet and reed switches (designed, but not built yet--initial proof of concept testing looks very promising).
