I think Joe Szabo did a really nice tribute artwork that aligns well with originals.I'd like to see a custom version that looked truer to the original sideart. I don't think the Willis looks close enough. Has someone made one like that? Not the exact thing copy and pasted, but something that looks like it would have been original to the game, with a similar style of shrooms and centipede.
Some things really are better as a memoryThose with CPO OCD, look away.

Oh. I didn't realize his design didn't work well with trackball location etc. maybe it's not as cool as I thought. Those with CPO OCD, look away.

Overlay is looking good, looking forward to seeing the final design. Want to order a couple once the design is final.
Thanks,
Mark
with the blending in behind, black outlines were ruled out very early, the white is growing on me also.My vote is white. White brings out the pinchers on the centipede. Would be awesome to see white players with black outline maybe??
White. Lavender isn't bad but don't like red or green as there is plenty of those colors around already.opinions on player dudes?
@mhcapps txted me today and has planted a bug in my ear now.
There is a little bit of white (fangs) that it make it look decent.
and lavender, green and red are pulled from artwork so they will compliment.
What do you vote for?

I was thinking of this along the lines of, what would they do with current tech if they could redo it, similar to what the do with pins now. Instead of screen printing etc. and that is where the gradient came in instead of straight line and hard transitions. But, I hear what you are saying.I hate to be the one that says it, but the gradient does not play for me. I'm looking at the mushrooms, and they're cut off along the bottom edge. The original Willis used a colored area there to frame the main art. Beyond that, I think it over-modernizes the vintage Atari+Willis look to the point where it doesn't work well. I suggest scaling it back to using a solid background there, and pick a color from the Centipede bezel (like somebody else suggested earlier) that coexists well with what's already there. That's just my opinion, and everybody likes different things. I appreciate what you're doing here. Player dudes look best white.

Green is my second choicewith the blending in behind, black outlines were ruled out very early, the white is growing on me also.
