Hey Guys,
Made a visit to Barcade in Brooklyn this past weekend with one of my friends that came down from Boston. On a side note, I must say - They have the perfect business model for keeping an Arcade going. Nice big bar with tons and tons of craft beers that are constantly changing all of the time, surrounded by loads of great classic games. Seems like in order to keep an arcade going now a days you need to really rely 99% of income on beer, and let arcade games just entertain everyone.
Anyways.. my friend and I decided to have a game-off. We went through every game in the place on 1 quarter per game, and switched off going first. 30 games were working that night..Berzerk and Joust were unfortunately not working, and the kicker was that DK was switched out with a DK Jr Board! Totally screwed me over on that one because its not even a competition between us on DK but I ended up losing in DK JR haha. Well the bad news was we ended up tied at 15 and didnt have a 31st game for a tie breaker.. but the good news was it was alot of fun. We think we're going to continue the event next time at Barcade in Jersey City..anyone ever go there? It looks like they have a great selection of games..even a Star Wars which i've yet to play in my life time.
Really wish I can say goodbye to the financial world and open up a similar bar/arcade. You're supposed to do what you like in life right?..isnt that what everyone always says!
