They do have some interesting games there. My brother went last year and he only got a few pic's before they came up to him and told him;no pictures. Your lucky you got away with that many.

that pirate ship thing looks cool, everything looks so "busy" its hard to focus on any one thing.

Just out of curiosity why are so many things written in English? Is it because of all the tourists in Japan from the U.S. and U.K.? You don't see games here with lots of Japanese on them.

English on signs are usually associated with youth oriented items.. Not many Americans or tourists in that part of Japan.....

When I was there last year they told me to stop taking pics, so I was careful to not be seen..

That is what I was curious about, are they trying to teach the kids English?

I asked my japanese teacher that when I was in high school. She said that it was considered cooler. Same reason why many J-pop songs have english (or engrish) peppered in them.

Ahhhhh the ever so flashy Japanese arcades. Those machines are real pricey. You could buy a couple of 2011 cars for a set up of those T6 machines. Plus almost all games now are connected to a server for online updates, data updates and transfers.

Japan's arcade distributors are starting to get like their government with cars. They try to push people to buy brand new ever few years.

I should post up some old pictures I had when I was stationed there from 2003-2010.
The only time I was refused pictures is when the were Test location a very new game. (Beta)
That happened only once. Otherwise you just look like another geek who is fascinated with the machines. I've even taken videos of arcades by my house. I should post those too.

(tell you a funny story) The strangest thing though..... I got a few crazy looks when I pulled out measuring tape and literally measured a Sega Blast City cab. I was looking to buy my very first arcade cabinet and wanted to make sure it would fit through my front doors. LOL

They get all the cool new toys first yet they consider us cooler? :D

Round1 at the Puente hills mall (caifornia) has one of those pirarte games.
Kool place but honestly I don't see collectors buying these games. They are HUGE compared to most games even the NBA Jam game.

Color me jealous! That place looks fantastic, especially that Gundam (?) Vs. game. What I wouldn't give to stop by there, or to have one of those cabs... :D

No BEMANI games? Every game center I went to (this was in 2008) had at least Drum Mania and GF, most had Beatmania, and only a few still had Dance Dance Revolution.

Also Pop'n'Music and Taiko no Tatsujin machines were everywhere. Project Diva is the only music game I see in your pics.
