I just bought this monitor a couple weeks ago and already I'm having a problem. I plugged it in before I bought it and the menu popped up fine. I plugged it in after I bought it and the menu came up fine. I set it on its back, monitor facing up towards the ceiling, so I could dremel some small notches in the frame to make it fit in my Japanese cabinet. When I plugged it in after that, this is what I see:

The colors you see are the menu screen.

If I plug in a game or a PC to the VGA slot, you can see a change in the overall screen color, but you can't make anything out.

Any ideas?

Is the connector plugged into the VGA slot on the small board to the right of the neck board? If not, then the VGA signal won't display properly.

And If you had it lying on it's back (with the neckboard towards the floor), I'd check the neckboard and the neck for any damage or looseness. The neck is not very sturdy, and even a tiny bit of pressure can destroy it....

I've checked all of the connections I can see and they all seem pretty secure.
The neck is well protected by the frame so there wasn't any pressure put on the neck or board. I did check the connection between the neck and board just to make sure and it seemed solid.
